Update: I got the idle jet replaced with a 40 and the main to 88 . I still have a bog off acceleration. So I suspect the slide is the problem. It came with a 60 slide so I ordered a 40 and 50 from treats, god bless them.lol. They will be here in a few days I will post an update then. I know people like to see problems actually getting resolved here. On the other hand the backfiring stopped and the top end is too fast to go in a scooter so I am happy. A 60 is a very lean slide, never seen one myself. I usually end up with a 30 or 40 in my setups.

You have now: -idle jet 40 -main jet 88 -slide 60 but what are: -needle (type W??) -clip from the top
-emulsion tube
They all have some efecy to the mixture!

Your carburetor setting now: -idle jet 40 -main jet 88 -atomiser AU262 (please check!) -needle W9 (cone 1,4 x 20) -needle notch 1/5 or 1/4(there are Dellorto needles with 4 and 5 notches) -slide 60 I think your carburetor is: lean from idle to ¼ throttle, because the slide cut 60 is very lean. An oversize atomiser262 compensates leannnes a bit. lean or very lean from ¼ throttle to ¾ throttle, because the needle has short cone (20) and the clip is in top position. The cone starts late, at 8,9 mm open throttle. The needle is quite ”aggressive”, because if You change the clip setting to 2/5 (line B), the lean spot will be allmost Ok, but over the ½ throttle the mixture will still be on rich side. My advice is to try following setup (line C): -idle jet 40 as now -main jet 88 as now -atomiser AU260 instead of 262 -needle W12 (1,8 x 20) instead of W9 (1,8 x 20) -needle notch 5/5 or 4/4( -slide 40 instead of 60 The graph will show teh relative changes in the flow area between the atomiser and the needle. The starting point ( line A) = zero line is your current setting. Please, read my writing ”Dellorto PHVA and PHBG tuning) for a wider explanation.

They will be here today and I will try the 40 slide and needle combination you recommended. Problems is my friend is that the atomiser part number does not exist or any part number that is on most of the parts of this clone carb. So I am sol on knowing what atomiser I have. Hopefully it is the one I need and swapping the slide and needle will work. Thank you for your input I will let you guys know what I find out. I will pull the atomiser if I need to and check but I doubt it. Your inputs are helpful thanks. And if Brent is around sorry about that gripe over that nude anime thumbnail I can only hope that we can agree to disagree what constitutes nudity.Lol ;

Ok fellas the long sigh and $hity update: so I tried the 40 slide and the bike ran terrible and smoked like a dragon at idle. Then I tried the 50 less smoke still could not adjust it out with the air/fuel screw. So I ended up putting the 60 back in and experimenting with needles. I tried numerous pins until I looked up a pin chart to see what the profiles are. It was running fairly well with the 9 in the leanest clip setting as I stated the other day, but it has a little trouble down low. I noticed that the 7,8,9 pins all have a 1.40 tip, tried the 7 pin and I put it in the clip that makes the taper start at the same time as the w9 and it ran a bit better. But still not good enough. Tomorrow i will try the w8 needle and place the clip to start to taper where the w9 starts. Either way changing the slide was no good for now. I want to try to tune around this slide because I will have to down jet the pilot if I swap to a richer slide.

I think your carburetor has an oversize, very rich, atomizer, get an italian AU260 atomisezer.With 260 atomiser You can use smaller, normal size slides (40 or 30). My experience is that an 70 cc engine runs better with leaner needles, with 1,8 tip. Try needles W12 or W25.

Got it to run acceptable with the w8 needle. I will check out the atomizer when I get a chance.

I checked the atomizer and it is over 2.7 mm so ya it is a crappy part. I will order the 262 suggested
