Variator
Try all 5.5 then try all 5's one will feel best and give you best Top speed .

For setting variator weights
Do high speed runs on the same stretch of road
via gps on your phone track top speed and responsiveness

run all stock weights for a baseline male notes like this

6 grams 40 mph sluggish on throttle off throttle
5.5 grams 40 mph spunky on and off throttle
5 grams 39 mph spunky on and off throttle

You also can test the in between weights by running half and half for balance
6/5/6/5/6/5
I will bet the 5.5 are the ones that work best

Another question just popped into my mind. Is getting a 46 pilot jet necessary for my setup? I already got main jets but was wondering if I really even need the pilot jet? Would it help? What areas would it improve? I’ve seen people install 70cc kits on other mopeds and only install a larger main jet and that’s it. BTW, my carburetor is non adjustable no air/fuel screw, non and a non adjustable needle

Since you cannot adjust the needle
It is a way to have the mid throttle be richer without having to over jet the main.

If she runs great at wide open and mid throttle you dont need it

i believe you have a 75 or 82 stock main jet you need like a 88 to 95 range jet

I actually have a 72 main jet . I don’t even know how, previous owner must have installed it. It’s weird Becuase upon further research I found carburetor schematics for my exact model and it’s supposed to come with a 80 main from factory. I’m at 800ft of elevation with only a NCY pipe

Yamaha shipped some scoots that had the restricted throttle with a 72 jet
The 72 works well enough for lower rpm’s stock pipe
As soon as you do the throttle mod your scoot revs out higher and needs a richer mixture

And the n when you add a pipe richer still
