It just keeps the 'damaged' part away from the complete engine.

It's now gone out of my way. I could have sold him the engine as well as he was looking for one. I was just about to say there's one in the garage but got this strange gut feeling not to mention it or open the garage up. Not had that for many a year plus the garage is away from the house.

Engine gone, tatty topbox and rusty went for £51 on eBay and seat £17. Happy days only thing left to do is put the 150 kit which came with it on the Arizona but that can wait. Best not get ideas again about keeping the Peugeot Pox. May break it up though before scrapping it if people happy to pay silly prices for things.

I have seen used and rusty things go for double the price of a new part on eBay. I guess some silly fools get overly excited while bidding.

Very strange phenomena. I also see old parts really close to the price of new quite often for sale on there.

It isn't even a case of the old parts being better either, or being antique, just common variety parts or pieces that are readily available. It just seems there is a sucker born every minute. People don't do their homework... Especially when the asking price is MORE than a new part.

Definitely some people taking chances with some of the prices. I was looking at carbs the other day. Ten year old crusty carbs are nearly the same price as a new Dellorto. Then again Yamaha want £400 for a Dellorto which costs £110! You did well on that top box Milly. Can't believe someone would pay that.
