Hello everyone,
I'm in need of help. I have an Aprilia SR motard 50cc 2stroke (Top speed 63 - ish km/h, but it seems that it wants to go faster). It has a Leo Vince TT exhaust, 8 g roller weights, red clutch springs. What I've noticed is that the top speed didn't really change after putting on the aftermarket exhaust, and after putting on the exhaust and the 4.8 g roller weights it came with, the acceleration was horrendously bad, but with the sports exhaust and with the 8 gram rollers the acceleration was fine. My guess is that maybe the roller weight difference is just too much? Or maybe it's a main jet issue because I currently have a M6 75 size main jet, is the main jet size too big or is there something that I'm not getting? I'm a newbie to scooters so please excuse my lack of knowledge.
Also the clutch seems to not disengage until like 20 km/h then it rolls freely.
Much thanks.

I think you may be right on the roller weight and possibly the main jet. You could try half 4.8 and half 8g rollers, staggered to keep it balanced... 4.8, 8, 4.8, 8... and see how it does. That's still a big jump, but maybe it'll give you some idea. Get yourself a main jet kit and do some test runs to see what it likes.

What year is it? Usually before 2019, a 68 jet was commonly used with a sports pipe. Those rollers are pretty heavy. Heavier than stock even. You would normally go down in weight with a sports pipe. Did you remove the restriction from the exhaust?

Hi, yes I've tried putting in half 4.8 and half 8 g rollers, and it was like the same as only having 4.8 g.

Have you removed the air injection pump, or disabled it? What about the restriction in the carb? You need to do that before you tune it if it's a Euro 4 model. You will also need to remove the restriction on the boss. Or fit a new variator.

It's actually a 2017 model, sorry for the inconvenience. The variator doesn't look like that on mine, no restrictors on it.
And I'm sorry but I don't understand what the euro 4 model means or the air injector pump (where should that be?)

If you have a 2017 model you do not need to worry about all of that. It was put on from 2018 to beat the emission regulations. That's why you don't have the ring on the variator boss then.

What exhaust is it? I used 4.8g with the Yasuni Z I had. Worked very well with the stiffer clutch springs.

The TT makes peak power at 8,500 rpm. You need to try and get close to that with the roller weight. A cheap tachometer would help. They are not a lot of money.

And what would happen if I were to overshoot that 8,500 rpm range? Because I feel that the 4.8 grams are overshooting it, or maybe there's a rpm limiter on the moped?
Anyways, I will try the tachometer.
