find the failure first...do this.....put some oil down the spark plug hole and check compression again. if it goes up its rings.

Yep find the failure first, differences in the A9 cam is not the lift nor duration, both are about the same as stock, ( I actually checked this with my micrometer ) the difference is in when they open and close the valves, giving you more low end torque.. That's really what the A9 or NCY's high performance cam does.
A 50 mm bb head should work just fine, it will lower your compression a little but that's actually a good thing in this case, meaning you can probably burn regular fuel and not need the 93 + octane fuels that others must have ( Such as mine )...
But first things are first, trouble shooting is a logical progression in finding a problem, don't be so concerned about other things until this problem is solved, then move on to the next, so first do your compression check, see what that tells you.. Every thing when it don't work has a reason, we just have to find it, and that's done by taking a logical step by step approach that will eventually reveal the problem or problems.. After the problem is revealed we can deal with it... :-)
