LOL, I don't know that our grey squirrels could fit in there, maybe a chipmunk? Those things were pretty big for a mouse Maybe one of those little ground squirrels. I'll have to check the other scooter tommorow. I did make sure I put a cap on the carb though til the new air box gets here I wonder, if I screw the thing onto a pole, it would make a little varmint house, neighbors'd like that.

Some course mesh chicken wire or such would prevent this in the future and not impede air flow.

time to get a big mean nasty barn cat that will stop the critters from using the scoots as winter storage

Good idea. Obviously critter had to get in through that top piece, I'll look into putting some screen over that. Sadly a shed cat would never survive, expressway right in front of my house. My Boo stays in the fence though, he gets whatever comes over to his side. Except that once when he brought it in before killing it.

you know i actauly use 100 mph tape over things when i store them for the winter well that is as long as where the intake is cant be seen so i dont have to worry about tape crap on it when i pull it out

I think some heavy screen, and marine tech around the edge. I'll try that out on this one before the new one comes..

I would have never thought an animal would store stuff in a scooter. I've seen lots of spiders and a little mouse in a battery box once but never food storage. lol

I know there are barn cats. Could there be garage cats? Seems like a good idea...

LOL, they got ya Goosey!
I have some squirrel toys in my back yard hanging in a tree. I hang corn in them and watch the squirrels go at it. Funny entertainment in the winter! Or in the mornings getting our coffee.
Anyhow, i just got another new toy the other day and a fresh bag of corn. I had a guys scoot in the garage with the battery cover off. I went in there a couple mornings ago to work on it and saw what looked like seed shell and chips on the garage floor all around the side of the scoot. I didnt think much of it until i was finishing the scooter and went to install the batt cover and it wouldnt go on. I fiddled with it for a minute with no luck so i pulled the battery out thinking something was under it? Sure enough, corn! I dont how the lil shits did it but the y had corn all over in the bottom of the battery tray, around the CDI, you name it. Everywhere you could stuff a piece of corn. I had to give the scoot a good "shake down" lol. Told the customer to listen for popping on real hot days.
Another time my friend Jay and i went for a ride and stopped in another friends. While we were there i walked over and looked out at our scooters sitting out front. As i looked a squirrel was trying to climb up the shocks into the front of his scooter and hide something in it. He was digging to! Got tail deep before i could stop em. LMAO!!!
