yup, pass a law requiring insurance but then uninsured motorist is part of your policy. in effect we the insured pay for the uninsured.

Hi On my other scoot i was hit by an uninsured motorist i had to pay for all my damages and medical bills my self, also when she was lifted having no reg made it impossible for the police to help me find and reclaim her, i still havent heard any thing about her When i got April i registered and insured her even though its not necessary in my state , im not taking those chance's again Take care and ride safely Yours Hank

i am not sure i follow your point, it just means the scooter would be broken up and sold for parts. either way the scooter is gone, regardless of paper work there is still a vin # on the frame, that is the final determination of ownership not a reg. sorry the authorities could not find your previous scoot.

it sounds like the authorities are vindictive, since the state did not get their pound of flesh, it's tough luck for you mr. taxpayer. nice. i built my scooter up from a non runner, exactly because of the reasons you bring up. it is almost paid for now in fuel savings in one riding season. here in ct we have sanctuary cities that make taxpayers scooters attractive targets for theft because no reg is required.
