Some manufacturers do rate their jets different. Not sure what Amal/Arreche does.

Well I'm glad I have never had soft sieze. But I still have A very bad bog that I explained. About 3 times before 30mph but very strong running in between them. I got my Carb set pretty close thanks to you all. Got my plug looking good.
Could it be in the drive side? Belt is brand new malossi. Or var. Clutch etc? I'm might get a yahmaha belt today.
Could the timing not being as suggested by a few on here make it do this?
Thanks for help..

The port timing would have to be really far off to cause anything weird like that I'd think, and you'd probably just end up with no power ever if they were that bad. The durations you posted aren't bad at all.
Have you checked for intake leaks and case leaks?

I did switch to the colder br9hs plug and might try a 8 or 7 but I don't think it would cause that. Tried putting stock Carb on that ran great on other scooter and it still did it. Tried my friends Carb, it still did it. If you come in slow on throttle, like 1/4 till u hit 30 then go wide open it doesn't do it. My clutch springs came in I might try them or put stock one on.

Yes, I made a tester like you showed and had no leaks. Was hard to get plug to sell in exhaust port. After struggling with some ports myself, I ended up taking a piece of aluminum and bolting it over the outlet for pressure tests. Works so much easier. Might need to use a little grease or a thin layer of sealant. It still sounds so much like a carb issue. Rolling on and working fine really makes me think a problem with the needle settings or a clogged passage in there or something to lean it out at part throttle. Seems liek the other carbs should not do it the same if it were like that though. Random ideas... Know if the reeds are OK? Piston in there correct? I've heard of someone installing a piston with the boost port facing the exhaust and it did something like this. Not sure that it only happened to 30MPH though.

I just put a Dello 21mm on a Mina with a Polini sport and a Stage 6 pro pipe. It would get a lean swing with the stock carb bad. I could never get it all the way out without it being pig rich on the low end or lean part throttle. I suppose a new slide might help but its not worth the money spent IMO. This one would bog like yours, then get warm and detonate when rolling off the throttle.
The 21mm Dello solved all that on this one. I was even able to close the squish more.

ok, i tried the old belt today to see if surge would go away and it did. I think i might have the wrong belt or something. the new one i took off was a malossi 6112729. the old yamaha fixed it. yeah. why would a belt cause surge?

when it comes to the yamahas there belt is just a little off then the ones that try to clone them so your best bet on any yamaha unless you have an over range is an oem yamaha belt
