I ordered a couple more things today for the parts pile that will become an FL100.
MaxiScoot has had a sale with some S6 stuff at really good prices, so I picked up a Stage6 47mm stroke 100mm conrod crank.
Then I figured I really should start looking for an Aerox wheel in case it takes a while to source and get. I started on eBay and wound up getting an MBK Nitro wheel (which looks just like an Aerox wheel to me) for $170 shipped. The wheel was only ~$65 but shipping on anything I saw in Europe was awful. Last time I paid $300 per pair shipped from x7rocks so $170 for the rear is about on par 3 years later.
I'm just getting the rear wheel, because I think I'd like to keep the 12" front wheel on T1 and hopefully get the Aerox/MBK wheel powder coated to match or at least close to the neon yellow. Thinking that will save a little weight up front and keep the scoot lower, aside from saving some cash. T1 is super easy to ride right now, so I'm hoping it can stay that way even with more power with the RC1.
There's still a very long way to go. At this point my parts pile is barely a pile. So far...
RC-1(ish) cases
Stage6 R/T FL100 cylinder kit and spare gasket set
Stage6 crank
Stage6 spacer for their crank (goes behind vari I think?)
2FAST & Stage6 14mm circlips (looks like S6 uses double G clips that scare me a bit)
Aerox rear wheel
Lots more to go, but I'll get there eventually. What's sad is looking at how bad they markup things that are race parts vs more standard parts. I know there's more R&D in race stuff and pipe for example are built much more intricately, but some stuff feels like it gets marked up largely because it's a race part and they know those of us that got hooked on high revs can't resist it.
I just put a list together for a friend with a Malaguti Phantom F12. He wants to go faster but be able to ride wherever without worrying about it so anyone can ride it. Parts list I gave him was...
Polini Sport 70 LC
Malossi MHR 10x14x13 wrist pin bearing
Yasuni R exhaust
17.5mm DellOrto PHVA TS (retains stock auto choke and hopefully fits intake and airbox)
Motorforce main jet kit
2 Dell Pilot jets
Polini Hi-Speed variator (comes with a contra and clutch springs with 6.9g rollers)
Polini 4.2g 16x13 rollers
Polini Original belt
NGK BR8HS or BR8HIX
That entire parts list with shipping costs less than the MSRP on the Stage6 R/T FL100 cylinder kit. Ridiculous. Don't ever go high end racing 2T unless you want thoughts of 14000RPM pulls to dominate the rest of your life. LOL
