The car shows in MI have been large crowds of people and basically no masks. I've tried to keep my distance and have left each one I've been to early. If you're at all concerned in that regard, I'd stay home honestly.
As far as the new law...definitely sounds like they're trying to prove a point and like Aeroxbud said, I bet they'll be writing tickets to that end as well.
I was super psyched for the Renaissance Festival (dorky, I know) and even if they hand't canceled it (which they did), I wasn't going to go for these reasons, aside from the ticketing lol. The inability of our society to cope with this virus basically sucked 70%-100% of the enjoyment out of many of life's activities.
Just my two cents...

The unofficial H2Oi car show is coming near the end of the month. They are determined to not have the wild event of 2019 again. I was planning on taking T2 down, but I'm not sure. Kinda worried about crowds because I don't know if they have sense enough to not form huge crowds, but also all of this that has been rumored and is now official. Not sure if it's worth it. "In my 13 years it's probably without question the largest deployment of troopers to the town that we have had," Starner said. Police warn that driving throughout Ocean City between Sept. 22-26 will be difficult because officials plan to change traffic patterns throughout the town. "We emphasize that the week of Sept. 22 and all the way through the weekend of Sept. 26, there are going to be major disruptions to traffic," Buzzuro said. "It's not going to be comfortable traveling through Ocean City, especially during that weekend." The town will add speed bumps throughout Ocean City as another measure to keep control, Buzzuro said. The chief didn't provide details of where those speed bumps would be deployed, simply saying they will be "strategically placed." Prior legislation on special event zones only dealt with excessive speeding, but under the new law, people will be prohibited from exhibition driving while in a special event zone, according to the law. The law considers exhibition driving to be: Excessive or abrupt acceleration or deceleration. Skidding, squealing, burning or smoking tires.Swerving or swaying a vehicle. Producing an unreasonably loud engine noise.Grinding gears. Wheels losing contact with the ground.Transporting a passenger on the hood or roof. Under the new law, a person can be arrested and sentenced to up to 60 days in jail and/or $1,000 fine, according to the law. The above is from : www.delmarvanow.com/story/news/local/maryland/2020/09/03/ocean-city-md-h-2-oi-whats-changing-combat-chaos/5706672002/Grinding gears? I feel bad for the kid learning to drive a manual transmission that day.

I don't think they'd bug me about the exhaust. I have a feeling they are looking for the ridiculous. The people with cars that pop repeatedly and get the cops called for gunshots in the area or some of the really loud cars.
I also don't think they'll put speed bumps in the bus lane, where scoots can be on coastal highway, because I don't think they want the buses hopping around. Of course they could require all traffic to funnel. They mentioned that in the past. Basically taking 3 lanes plus a bus lane and blocking off all but one to create a huge traffic jam that you could spend hours in.
So then do I think I have enough sense not to do my little wheelies or take off in front of cops? Not really. No burnouts? Maybe... or not. Even if I take off ahead of traffic, the cops either don't care or are just looking for cars. It only takes one time that they do care to be a big problem with those penalties. The crowd is probably the worst thing for me. I can just turn back and go home if it's miserable otherwise. If a crowd swarms the street that I'm in, there's no avoiding it unless it happens well ahead. I wonder how hard it is to ride in a hazmat suit?
Pretty much; the angel on my shoulder is saying stay home and be smart and the devil is saying maybe you can still try to find more tricked out Rucks to smoke or some cars to play with. That's basically all I live for. This is gonna be one of those things where no one really knows what it is till it's happening. They're not giving many details about plans and H20 is the kind of thing where there may be a mild crowd Fri and the whole town can erupt Sat or they could scare off a lot of the people and it's never a big deal.

Someone told me to try the Koso water pump in a comment on YouTube. I've never heard of it. Nice looking piece. Don't know that it solves much, but it looks like the Stage6 pump on a fancy housing/support. Figured I'd pass it on for anyone else that's never seen it. www.koso.com.tw/products-detail.php?id=705&lang=en

Can't look inside but I bet the impeller is also the same. Aside from that, when the product doesn't specifically describe any specs or the pro's over other products i'd say it's just a rebranded S6 product. My

I ordered a new TPR 86cc cylinder last night. I stuck my old super cheap borescope in the cylinder before that to look at the piston crown. Looks OK from what I can tell that way. It's a crappy picture using the borescope, but it doesn't appear to be chewed up on the edges of the crown as it should be to some degree after 75 miles of use if YouTube is right and it was from detonation when it failed. It runs strong. I have no good reason to believe that the cylinder will fail, but I'm paranoid that it could with H2Oi next weekend (still no idea if I will or won't go) and Endless Summer Cruisin' a couple of weeks after that.
I went as far as considering building an entire second 86cc engine, but I'd like to try something even more powerful in the future and the more I spend now the less I have later. Prob won't be able to afford anything else later either and I'll end up with another TPR... but I can dream.

I'm still watching the H2Oi related news. "If the social media posts are any indication, they aren’t playing around, either. Those brave (or foolhardy) enough to make the trip early in the week are already finding that OCPD is impounding even completely stock cars, just because they can. Posts of Golf GTIs barely lowered on some wheels, a bone-stock F82 M4, a slightly lowered S14 Silvia, and a nearly stock VA chassis Subaru STi have all been photographed loaded on trailer dollies to be transported to the impound lot. The ‘body count’ for Monday and Tuesday was supposedly 42 cars taken off the street and dropped at the local impound lot." "From the city’s perspective, the only thing they can do is stop the event before it happens. They believe that by creating it effectively illegal to drive anything in their city that weekend, it will reduce the number of attendees and ideally hinder any ‘unsafe’ vehicles and ‘exhibition’ driving, thus incentivizing the crowds to either stay home or at least disperse away from the concentrated Coastal Highway through Ocean City." "If the early news flowing in from enthusiasts already at Ocean City is any indication, the police force may well have the city locked down. Checkpoints on inbound causeways have already been erected, temporary speed bumps laid on high-traffic streets to slow drivers to a crawl, countless traffic stops, most ending in trips to the impound lot, have already begun to happen." Source : blog.ecstuning.com/gathering-storm-h2oi-unofficial-part-1/This is sounding less and less fun, but I'll continue to watch. EDIT : Just saw a quick vid on instagram of a Ruckus pulled over by 2 moto-troopers. Normally they don't seem to pay much attention to scoots. If a fairly plain Ruck isn't safe, what are the odds for a throttle happy rider on T2?

Man that's a bummer. Hopefully things will get better in the future. We have very similar situations down here, they crack down and people stop coming to the events. Then the city and business owners realize how much revenue they lost due to their overreaction. It may take a couple years, but hopefully they will eventually find a middle ground with reasonable amounts of law enforcement. I also feel like the pandemic and civil unrest are creating an attitude of better safe than sorry. You can always come down to Dirty Myrtle Beach! We always have a little something going on, last night it was a fire at one of the hotels.

It may take a couple years, but hopefully they will eventually find a middle ground with reasonable amounts of law enforcement. There's a whole lot of disagreement there. Some of the businesses complained about H2Oi not having much of a crowd when it was rained out, then they don't like it at all when it's not. They can't do what they did last year. It was ridiculous. Stuff like the fireworks in the middle of the strip while a car did donuts... I'd all but guarantee that was one of the people that is famous for "aftermovies" of the events and cashes in on that sort of thing. Kind of sad that at least some of the stuff that really got the attention of the locals was likely done for videos and social media following. I have cameras on the scoot and I, but I go for me and I don't do anything for the camera that I wouldn't do without it. I get demonetized anyway for dangerous acts when I post car show vids. The hot rod shows have had burnouts and the occasional red light drags since I was a teenager and the locals don't like it, but it's not like this. The crowd at H20i is largely college and 20s. I've got nothing against that, and I enjoy the crazy atmosphere of people in banana suits and all of that stuff. I just wish they could stay out of the streets and not use the event as an attempt to gain followers/views. Stay thee hell away from cars when they are doing a burnout... no one but you wants you in the pic/video anyway. If everyone could have fun without pouring into streets and going full on chaos, they'd likely be back year after year and have fun without so much fanfare. The locals would complain, but they wouldn't be passing new laws and going to extremes. Again though, some people really enjoy the infamy that H2Oi now has and even feel proud to be impounded and stuff. It's weird.

That's a lot of cars taken off the streets. And one less Rukus to smoke. I guess you are right about the social media aspect. People showing off for the cameras. It makes you long for the days when it was all word of mouth. And all the crazy stuff would happen away from the venue. I can't help thinking the city is going the wrong way about this. If the made it more organised, and controlled. Perhaps put venues aside for showing cars. And have a low speed limit on the strip. Were basically it was just to show cars off. Hear them rev up. And people to see them. It might work. Yes it would have a different feel. But might keep the idiots away. So many shows I went to are no more. Any show is better than, no show.

oceancitylive.com/ocean-city-webcams/ocean-city-traffic-cam/I turned on the traffic cam for 1 minute earlier. 3 tow trucks in a group with lights on, with one car on one. 1 cop parked near the screen. At least 2 sets of flashing lights in the distance. ...But also a few scoots. Turned it on again a minute ago. Immediately a group of scoots passed by. Then a few more. Also a sheriff waiting on the side and some lights ahead. It figures the show most likely to have people on rentals and where some custom Rucks show up has to be the one that gets nuts. I'm still on the fence. Those other scooters really NEED to be smoked though. Can we really have 4Ts rollin' around out there like they own the place? What's the world coming to? If good sense doesn't stop me, the scoot may. I'm going out to cut the head down from the new kit in just a moment. Hoping I can get the engine together and let it seal overnight. I'd need tomorrow to try to tune so if it doesn't go well it won't matter if I want to go or not. New cylinder kit, new clutch, timing change, new front brake, repacked silencer, new airbox, carb cleaned and float height lowered, it would need a new belt if I end up going and I'm sure I'm forgetting stuff. Speaking of a new clutch; here's a video about the Stage6 MKII Torque Control clutch (unboxing, tuning and results) : youtu.be/dV2qgdgmwkM

I watched the local news tonight and they had a reporter live in OC. As soon as he came on a group of rental scooters went by yelling and blowing the horns. It goes to pre-recorded videos of the mayor and locals complaining. Then it comes back to the reporter and a guy goes past on a hopped up stand up scooter with the little two-stroke wound out at full song. Had to laugh. EDIT : They put the vid of that up : www.wboc.com/story/42679480/h2oi-revs-up-in-ocean-cityAlso, OC Public Works ran over a rental scooter. http://instagram.com/p/CFiowJbnfyU
