I finished port matching the case to the jug yesterday. I also made another pass on the header's inside with the welder to fill some dimples. Then I ground and sanded that down and threw a coat of BBQ black on there to keep it from rusting where it's bare. I'm making a little progress, not too much. Honestly I'm not in a great hurry. T2 has 0 fairings and it's quite cold. I'd rather hide behind the Venus what little I can. lol

Thanks. A polished finish isn't necessary. Smooth is good for for the exhaust side though.
I was supposed to be cleaning for Christmas, but I took a break long enough to install the real bearings (not mock-up) on the crank and make a little video tutorial in HD and it only takes 1 minute to watch. ;D

Thanks fellas. I haven't had a crank and bearings fight me yet. The final part of putting it all together is the hardest part. Last time around I tried putting the bearings in the cases, then heating those and putting the crank in. Once the cases got hot with the bearings in them, the bearings would fall right out. I figured I'd go the other way and assume there's a reason some places sell bearings already on the crank. lol

It might be a bit. I just ordered new motor mount bearings, or whatever you'd call them, last night. I forgot I needed them till I was looking at the cases after port matching. I think I'm gonna wait till I get those in before putting the cases together. It would be easier that way.

I ditched the solid stuff right after it tried to ditch me long ago. lol I'm just replacing those 2 bearings that the rod with the c-clips goes through to mount the engine. No time for a pic right now, but I think you know what I mean.

I agree Brent!A lot of engineering work went into those simple looking engine mounts, and"backyard mods" can cause trouble thats hard to fix!
