Hi Wanted to show my latest purchase, its a 97 Piaggio Velofax which is called vespino in some countries e.g. italy but was called velofax in france and maybe spain etc. These were only sold in continental/mainland europe and never in the uk or ireland. Dont think ill ever see another one in northern ireland anyway! Mine is from france. The guy i got it from, his father in law bought it new in paris, brought it home, got it uk registered and gave it to him as a present but he never rode it. its a fancy wee machine it has electric start and auto lube! its 50cc it has 220kms on the clock and as you can see is in new condition even though its a 97 had to adjust the carb a little, that was all. getting it MOT'd (yearly inspection for vehicles here) and on the road asap plans are a 65cc polini kit with a metra kit pipe and big carb with open filter.

Very stylish, those big wheels are a bit dodgy though? can't beat 10" wheels eh?

That is true, I have borrowed an old Yamaha RX125 off someone at work as my wife is learning to ride and wants to get her own motorbike, and I have noticed riding it to work that it is much smoother and more stable over the rough ground.

I've never seen one quite like that. Cool scoot. It's really odd to me to see the exhaust and CVT on the same side. I'd never guess that's a '97. Looks more like a 2012 from it's condition. Very nice.

It will be convenient to change a rear tyre.

Forde was saying "a lot of the aftermarket pipes are routed so they run under or the other side to make it easy to change rollers" With a BBk it's going to fly :wheelie:

yeah there are some great ones, some awesome builds and technical skills too!!
first thing i need to do on the bike so it will pass our yearly inspection is fit a light switch to the front brake, as currently only the rear brake makes the light come on, which was allowed under french law but not in my country.
not sure on the best way to do this? if i can find a right-hand lever from a chinese scoot or something that has cable operated brakes and a light switch on the lever i could use that. maybe you guys could help me find out a model of china scoot with cable brakes that i could search for parts from?
also i believe pull switches are available that can be installed along the brake cable somewhere? between cable and drum? not too knowledgable on those.
