Looking for some help identifying what motor came in my Adly Silverfox I recently picked up. Grabbed it for $80 for a fun project and a future commuter to campus.
These are the only "engine codes" I've been able to find and unfortunately google hasn't come up with too many successful results.
On the side of the head: 3YJ0049 cm^3 On top of the cvt cover: JTJ077967 On the back of the cvt cover somewhat hidden by back wheel: HC1CJT On tag inside storage compartment: 7HRCC049STR (listed as engine family on the tag)
I was under the impression that it was a 4 stroke motor, but the tag in the storage compartment said to use 2 stroke oil only. Now I'm wondering why the previous owner left a receipt for 4 stroke oil in the storage compartment!!

From the pics I see of that model, it's a 2 stroke. Should be a minarelli / jog / 1e40qmb style of engine. I think all of the Adly engines vary from the most common of the Chinese 1E40QMBs. Usually we have a short or long case. You can see them both here... 49ccscoot.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=yamajog&action=display&thread=999They both use different final drive transmission setups. The long case normally has the gearbox extend past the CVT cover to make the extra length. I think the Adly uses a short case transmission with a stretched out CVT housing. The main reason I'm pointing this out is that you'll need a longer drive belt than the standard 1E40QMB uses. You'd need a different CVT cover too, but that's not something you will likely need to replace under normal circumstances. I'd drain whatever oil is in the reservoir and put in something that I know is 2T oil.

1e40qmb should be stamped on the case somewhere right? Where should I be looking for it? From the pics I see of that model, it's a 2 stroke. Should be a minarelli / jog / 1e40qmb style of engine. Some manufacturers use their own engine codes and never stamp them with the more common codes.

If it looks like what you're seeing in the diagrams in Hank's links, it's a minarelli/1e40qmb style. Other option would be to post a few views of the engine/cvt for us if you aren't sure.

Unfortunately given the shape the scooter came in, I'm going to say that the owner was not keen enough to use it as gear oil hah
