Nice collection of parts. I've never seen a vari shipped with anything like that on it. I'd clean it off. Wait on that though, maybe someone else will tell you it's a miracle belt traction aid or something. ;D

I was thinking grease wasnt too good for a CVT, but I'm not sure what it is really. It rubs off easily.

I'll wipe it off before I throw it on then. On another note, my scooter is finally back in my own garage! ;D Boy did it smoke for a few minutes when I started her up for the first time in 4 months If the weather cooperates, I'll start throwing on my parts one at a time this afternoon.

Ok, so ran into a few problems. I didnt want to attempt the clutch until I have another person around to help. I went to put the intake on, and the big rubber piece attached to it is waaaay too big for my carb. Any idea where I can get an adapter? Another thing, I switched over the fuel hose, but I'm getting a bad leak directly off of the petcock. I went to the hardware store earlier to get a few hose clamps and all they had was the "spring" kind. I wanted the screw kind, but they didnt go down that small. Any idea where I can get some 3/8" OD hose clamps? I tried the local auto parts store as well. Oh, and I tried to get it back in tune, seeing it was tuned for 20 degree weather since I last rode it in December, and I totally screwed it up Thats one thing I haven't gotten down yet. I always heard you were supposed to turn the mixture screw until the engine is idling at its highest, and then turn the idle screw until it slows down. Any insight? Right now while driving it bogs when I give it any gas, even though when it's on the stand and I rev it it sounds fine.

Harbor Freight sells a pack of 8 or so of the clamps for like 2 dollars. That or you can hit up a local Lowes or Home Depot and buy them for a dollar a piece, just about.

Wow, can't believe I didn't think about Harbor Freight. I should've stopped at Home Depot while I was at Ace. It's right down the street I'll see what I can find tomorrow morning.

You could probably make an adapter for the intake by finding a rubber hose or fitting that could work like a sleeve to fit over the carb so it fits into the intake's adapter. If the intake is really huge compared to your carb, you may be just as well off using the stock intake with with the aftermarket reeds. I start by tuning the idle kind of like you described, but rather than making the engine slow down I just go 1/4-1/2 turn richer after the highest idle. Read this if you haven't already... hondanighthawks.net/carb14.htm

I had to make an adapter for my Dello to plug into my stock airbox. I used the top of an old pill bottle. Threaded right on the Dello with some help. You might be able to use something like that.

This is actually just the stock carb and stock airbox. The issue I'm having is with the intake-side of the carb not fitting into the intake rubber piece. According to Carlos's ebay listing, it's for "Big carbs"

So I just went everywhere I could possibly think of to find these hose clamps, and no place sells them that small. I even found some that say they're for 1/4 I.D. hose. Tried them, and they're way too big. I'm about to just order them from Amazon.
As for the tuning, it's still terrible. It's somewhat better, but it still bogs like crazy when I start out from a dead stop. Is that a too lean, too rich, or an idle screw issue?

Most hose clamps I use seem too big for the 1/4 hose, but they can tighten down to it. I've got them at local hardware stores and auto parts stores.
Could bog from being rich or lean. You can tell some of what is causing the bog by noting your throttle position and looking at the chart in the link I posted that explains what does what. Lean is usually a hollow kind of bwaahhh sound if that makes any sense. Rich is usually a deeper sound and sometimes a stutter. If you've ever head a flooded vehicle start you know what I mean. Sorry, I'm not great at explaining that stuff.

Mine is bogging and it was is WAY too lean; due to the leaking gasket (Silicone). It's burning up the head and piston right now. I should have taken some pictures, it was pretty nasty.
