Just came across this whilst browsing various sites this morning. Was looking up different things about boost bottles, and happen to click this link. www.boostbottleindustries.com/nos_kit_with_5_refills.htmlIt's advertised at $40 with 5 refills (before shipping). They are also designed for pocket bikes, which have 38-49cc engines. (There are also "super" pocket bikes with 110cc engines. I know a guy in my neighborhood that has a mini chopper with a 110cc 4T 4 speed. Says it'll do 55mph, but I don't dare him too... That thing is not very stable at all. He's sitting about 14 inches off the ground. He also swears his back brake is a clutch, even though I tell him otherwise . That helps me keep up with him when we do sprints ;D). But seriously, I did have a question concerning it. How harmful is a shot of nitrous to a small 2T? I know it can't be great for it... Maybe you could use this on your new drag miskito when the time comes, 2strokd .

Shiftless has a very similar kit, if not that one, on a 150. From the reviews I remember, he likes it.
I've never wanted to try a dry shot (just nitrous is injected) of nitrous. If I did it I would prefer a wet shot (fuel and nitrous injected). I'd think a safe tune on a dry shot would be so rich it wouldn't run that great unless you were spraying it. I'd prefer to have the ideal mix all the time and then inject both nitrous and fuel to keep the ideal mix. I've never wanted to pay for the bigger kits with solenoids and bigger bottles and all the plumbing to play with a wet shot though.
I know plenty of people have used it, but heat is my concern on a 2 stroke. Nitrous does have a cooling effect on the air charge, but all that energy created releases a lot of heat. I've been in cars with big shots of nitrous and that temp gauge gets up there after a nitrous pass. That's a water cooled 4 stroke engine. Imagine an air cooled 2 stroke that fires on every revolution so it has even less time to cool between combustion cycles. I think it's something you'd have to be very careful with on a 2T.
OT but... I had and still have one of those super pocket bikes by the way. I modded a friend's and was the first person to post video proof of an X18 going over 60MPH online years ago. A company that sold X18s then took my video as their own. They later promised me a free bike if I paid shipping for such a great advertising tool then refused to answer any form of communication after their offer. My fastest did about 57MPH limited by gearing. I'm certain my engine on his bike with his weight would have done 70+. Now it's not as uncommon.

I had one a couple of years back, no gears. Not a super, but not the tiny ones. It was falling apart and stopped starting. I didn't know anything about engines then, so I just tossed it. Sure wish I had it now, knowing the things I've learned from here about 2T. They are just so easy once you actually give it a shot. I regret getting rid of it, for sure.
PS - It did about 25mph downhill.

Must have been a cateye or kinda like it. The 49cc 2T with pull start and electric start. Chain driven. Sometimes with a small CVT. I had one, put a bigger 4T in that. 2strokd had one too. I thought I had uploaded the whole long movie I made of myself and friends messing with those bikes, now I can't find it. 'll have to upload that sometime and post a new thread if anyone hasn't seen it and is interested. I know I uploaded it somewhere and posted at ScootDawg prob a year or more ago.

I ran 1 of those dry kits from boostbottle ind on a daily driver for quite a while (17 cartridges), before I put on a 170cc drag scooter..... (removed now) I will be running it in a class where no power adders allowed (don't think it will run with the strokers with real nitrous) Here's some more info on the kits antisocialsc.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=mechanical&action=display&thread=31There is a noticable punch when applying the nos As Brent stated, you have to set up your carb stupid rich to keep from burning the piston I would not reccomend these things for a 2t due to heat issues

Read the thread you linked me to. Definitely sounds like it works, but not something you would want to use in a daily driver. Thanks for the info!
