Spent about an hour tonight stopping every half mile or so to adjust the mixture screw. It seems that to get it to run better,I had to "open" the mixture screw further than I remember ever having to do on any carburetor before. I just went out to the garage and checked and I am right at 2.75 Turns Open from seated, not sure it that is excessive yet ,as I still need to look at the plug. As I mentioned before the Main is 82 and Pilot Jet at 32 Stock and the Needle is in the Center position by default from the factory.Should I be doing the jetting now or the needle first? What I am asking is ,what would be the correct order to dialing in the 23mm CVK. I was hoping there would be some online chart where I input my parts installed,CC's,Altitude,Carb size, and it would spit out the Needle position,Mixture Data, ect. If I figure this out optimally I will certainly post my results and hopefully some other folks from going through this.Vegas

theres a graph on this site.put in a search for carburetor selection graph... if u have to turn out the screw all the way out to get it to run with out bogging when giving it throttle, u might have to put a bigger pilot jet?

Mixture screw is at 2.75.Just Dropped Needle 1 slot,it was on the 2nd from the Top of 4 Slots,so there is only one more position lower than whet I just put it at. It's too late to fire it up right now and test it,as that pipe is anything but Quiet. Also Just checked The Iridium Plug and It could not be a better "textbook Tan" than it is,I am happy to see that,as I remember when I used to Race Off Road Buggies with Limited 1600cc Motors that All of A Sudden starting running Really,Really,Good ,and I cant figure out where all of this Power is coming from and I am passing everything in my same engine class like it's standing still, which in the Limited Engine Classes of Racing is Extremely Odd as the Engines are so close together, that no one has a Horsepower Advantage and How Quickly my Puzzled Smile turned into a Puzzled Frown.....I get home and the tops of all my Pistons Look like ceramic cookware with a hole the Size of a Quarter right through the Top of #3 Thanks to Lean Jetting which I later found out was done purposely by a Race Shop I am paying 1500.00 a race to tear down my motors, check all and put new Bearings in,and he is doing it for 100.00 from one of my Competitors,Bad Business for Him as I never used his services again ,so 100.00 Payoff once,or 1500.00 a month for him ,not to mention the way News travels in the Racing Community. There I go again, telling stories,Sorry Guys,Vegas

Hey PeteyParado,How is the BBK Hoca Head from Scrappy? I live less than a mile from their Shop, which sure makes it easy to spend money on my Toy. I see you are running a 20mm which is what I tried to buy but they were out of them so I went with the next Bigger as they assured me they sell tons of them for 50mm BBK customers and have never had a problem.. I sent Mo with scrappy an email as he probably gets this all the time being their resident tech and a real good dude as well...Vegas

Success!! Finally, just when I was ready to bolt the 18mm Stocker Back on it All just came together. Went to Scrappy this morning to get a Bigger Main jet and it was the 1st time that I started it since making the Needle Jet Change. Dropping the Needle was the wrong way to go. It was originally, the cir-clip that holds the needle was in Slot 3 of 4 counting from the top of the needle down from the factory. I moved the cir-clip up one into Slot 2 to drop the Needle as was suggested, Bike ran like Doodie,I mean I could barely keep it running even with my vigorous "Blipping" regiment that I was beginning to accept as a Normal Scooter Operation Technique,So I pulled the Needle again and went the other way figuring it certainly is not going to get any worse. That put the cir-clip into Slot 4 which is Max High position for the Needle. Fired it back up and twisted the throttle slowly as what was killing it before ,and Sugar Sweet Revvs not missing a beat. So i put the Mixture screw back at 2.5 from seated and started my 1/2 mile Adjusting Process. I ended up at 3.25 on the Mixture, the plug remains perfect light tan with no deposits and the 23mm CVK Pumper with 88 Main and 32 Pilot is a 100% Manageable and Happy. From Zero to 10 and anywhere in between ,smooth as silk, I am one Happy Camper. I hope that with the Mods I have done that I am in a reliable configuration,I know that this thing flies and I just broke my 3rd speedometer in 1500 miles, those things just dont seem to last at 50mph+ speeds,go figure. Thanks to All for your suggestions and I hope this helps out anyone trying to figure out how to set up their new or existing carburetor with BBK.Vegas
