now i got a lil money to spend on my motor and i was wonderin if gettin their high output coil 1.5k variator & clutch springs and their CDI would make any difference in performance. it doesnt specify if the cdi has advanced timing or not but thats probably somthin i should ask them. but idk this moneys burnin a hole in my wallet and im itchin for better performance. it already runs pretty darn good im just lookin for a little more throttle response and torque

If you really want the best bang for the buck and you are primarily looking for torque and throttle response, I would do two things that don't cost a lot of money and will probably get you the best results in those areas. First, I'd check piston to valve clearance and mill a bit off of the cylinder head. That bumps up compression and improves low-mid range power and throttle response. Most machine shops around me would mill the head for about $20-30. You wanna make sure you have at least .080" clearance on the intake side and .100" clearance on the exhaust side to be safe. You can probably close it up tighter than that, but if the springs start to get weak it could cause a problem. The next thing I would do is a free mod. You can modify the pickup on your stator to get more base timing for free. Basically you unbolt the pickup coil (the coil that is on the outside of the flywheel) and elongate the mounting holes so that it can be moved from it's stock position just slightly. This advances the timing throughout the whole powerband, not just a curve. Advancing the timing also improves throttle response and low-mid range power. You always want to etch the pickup somehow to show you where stock is if you ever have problems. If you only elongate the holes one way to advance the timing, you can simply slide the pickup back to the side you didn't elongate to go back to stock. Moving the pickup counterclockwise should advance the timing. If you decide to do this, be sure to keep enough meat on the pickup's mounts that it is still secure. If you feel more comfortable just installing parts rather than modifying the stuff I mentioned an advanced timing CDI should help for what you are looking for. The coil probably won't do a whole lot, but I still think they're a good upgrade because they provide a stronger spark for more consistent or reliable ignition. You can even get better gas mileage with the aftermarket coils sometimes. I think a tuning set of roller weights, contra springs, and clutch springs might be a better choice than just getting what they have and hoping it's right for you. Not sure if you're looking on eBay or what, but if you go to their site they give details about the CDI. " Scrap that limited stock CDI and drop in this unlimited performance CDI with no governer, and an advanced spark timing. This will increase acceleration and top speed by 5-10%, if all else is well. No guarantees on performance parts as this will not improve power if your engine is not running well to begin with. This is plug and play for GY6 scooter atv 50, 125, 150 engines in 152QMI, 152QMJ, 157QMI, 157QMJ, 139QMB 4strokes. If you have this connector and have an AC fired system, it work. See Tech Talk with MO! if your not sure. This is by far the lowest price unit on the market. $19.95" Here's the page with info about AC vs DC CDIs. www.scrappydogscooters.com/Tech_Talk_with_Mo_.htmlHere's the coil and CDI packaged together to save a little money. www.scrappydogscooters.com/Home_Page.htmlHere's a kit with different contra springs and clutch springs to help you get it dialed in just right. cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Racing-Spring-set-for-Honda-GY6-125cc-150cc-ATV-Quads_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem35a7aa7f21QQitemZ230446235425QQptZMotorcyclesQ5fPartsQ5fAccessoriesThis might be a good choice to try and get a little more acceleration and I think the diameter is larger so it may get you more top end as well. Question. I have a 2011 SSR Classic 50. Modified exhaust, engine stock. Through websites etc..., I determined it is an A/C system. Tried two A/C units (wouldn't start). Contacted SSR and was told it was a D/C system. Got one, wouldn't start. Put the stock one back in and it started. Finally gave up... Am I doing something wrong?

Could be that whichever was correct was a dud out of the box. Wouldn't be the first time I've heard of that.

scrappydog scooters ripped me off a few years ago. bought a new triple tree and forks for VIP and they literally sent me an empty box. not only did I get my money back from scrappy dog but I also got the insurance money from the post office even tho it wasn't the post offices fault.
