lol Well, as far as removing so much that there's a hole, that shouldn't be an issue. There's extra meat back there. My only concern would be making the area between the ring land and the crown too small/weak, and it looks OK to me.

I swapped out starters and motor mounts, because both were a bit different from the ATV to the scooter... I installed the CVT stuff from the Venus and vented the ATV cover. I swapped reeds and go thte top all straight and then did a pressure test. As you can see in this pic, there is lots of air making nice bubbles around the crankshaft. I guess I'll have to split the cases to do this. This ATV engine has a metal/rubber seal unlike the rubber seals that can be popped out while installed on the crank without a ton of trouble that I'm used to on the scoots. The more I use my leak tester, the more I love it. It's nice knowing your case/reeds/head gasket/etc... are all sealed when you drop the motor in. The only thing I still hat eis the exhaust plug. I've got 5 different expansion plugs and sometimes it can still be fun trying to get one to seal all the way. Might have to make a bolt on plate someday.

punch a small hole on the metal part with a sharp scribe, start in a #6 sheet metal screw then pry the seal out by catching under the screw head..Gotta go thru this all the time on aircraft engines!!

I was gonna try a punch and a curved pick to drag it out before splitting the cases. Never woulda thought of a scew though. Thanks for the advice. I thought I was gonna get a good bit done to it today... but granny had other plans. Who would wanna finish a motor when you could be baking cookies? lol

The machine screw trick worked great! Thanks again. It was easier than anyone expected I think. I punched a small hole, then screwed the screw in. After a couple of turns the screw started hitting the metal center of the crank bearing and pushed the seal right out. There was really no effort, no marks on the bearing, nothing. ;D One that was replaced, I had a reed sealing issue. I fixed that, then installed the lightened flywheel and stator from the 70cc. Popped the brakes on. And finished installing the other odds and ends. One thing that doesn't suck... I had to clearance the scooter case to accept the bigger tire. The ATV case fit the tire just fine.

You make it ALL look easy!
What is it like size wise? Maybe stick out a bit at the back like a drag scoot?

One really cool thing about this swap is that most people would never know it's not a 50. ;D Same size essentially. The only place it should be a little bigger is the length the cylinder and head protrude forward. That's only a matter of a few mm though. I've worked on enough 50's and 90's and I'd never be able to tell 'em apart if I were looking it over in the scoot short of reading an engine code.

Looks great Brent :thumb: ! I was working on one in my shop yesterday too  Something about putting a set-up all together, then plugging the leak-tester in just to see a leak somewere! Ya think such a thing would be a bummer to us, but NO! Its a blessing to find that leak BEFORE the engine is trashed. Its a good feeling  . One little leak can make for a hell of a time tuning the engine one day...Only to end up tuning again the next day :stars: . Let us know how she doe ;D, I know you will
