mine runs out about 40 or so then the motor revs it out from there with the stock vari, even modded. Its fun to see what you can get out of em tho. I wanted to mention that i did the vari mod like yours Brent. In my case tho, i cut the whole "wall" off the vari, not just where the ramps are. Seems to work good! And a small spacer keeps the weights in. Of course i havent held it flat out for any real distance like you do.....
Glad to hear she will wind up that high! Means ya got a pretty good tune IMO! Good work!

It was nice out tonight (46 degrees when I left at 11:30PM, 43 when I got back at 2AM) so I took a 70 mile ride into Delaware. Since it was late, there was really no traffic and I just took it easy and putted around. I got BY FAR my best gas mileage ever on this scoot. I did the math a few times, because it just sounds wrong. For the first half of the ride when I was especially easy on the throttle and prob never got far above 40MPH, I got 71.8MPG! My previous best was 48MPG. lol I'm impressed to see the mileage it can get when you ride like a 49cc scooter is supposed to.

I was out riding late again tonight, chugging along to see if the gas mileage last time was a fluke. I ended up getting 68MPG this time. While I was cruising at about 35MPH, a state trooper turned around and pulled me over. The great thing about the Venus is that it looks stock and sounds stock, so when I'm behaving I can be calm when pulled over. lol I just thought, "Hmmm. Wonder what he wants?". On other scoots I always think, "Oh sh*t.". Turns out the cop thinks my white tag light (built into my tail light assembly) is blue. It's a set of white LEDs, and I'm not sure how much whiter it can get, but he says it's blue. He said just take that bulb out. It doesn't come out, so I guess I'll put tape over it. lol

Thats a good one lol. "Blue" LMAO!!! Can always be worse i guess! I bet they will be cracking down on LEDS allot since they have 'blown up' in the past couple years.

The part that was funny was he said just take care of that so no one else like me has to bother you in the middle of the night. I was thinking, I had a cop follow me around parking lots half the night the last time a I rode and it didn't look blue to him. lol But, he was nice and didn't keep me long. I think it's kinda silly, but on the other hand I ride this area a lot at night and I don't really wanna run into him again with my "blue" light still shining. At least he didn't make me do it there. I got pulled over for a neon license plate frame that I had wired in to light up with my brake lights (I was 17, it sounded good at the time ). I was on a dual lane road in town late at night and I just pulled over into the slow lane since there was no shoulder. The cop made me unhook it on the spot so I crawled around under the car in the middle of the road while he watched. l When I was younger I never cared. Now I just feel like it's easier on me to cooperate. I got pulled over so many times for the same inspection stuff. I think I got pulled over three times in one week for the taillight blackouts on my Firebird. lol One of them made me take the blackouts off on the side of the road. I almost had to get towed home at 2AM on the way home from the beach before because two cops thought my Mustang had bare headers. I tried to explain that it's got a good bit of power, it's got aftermarket exhaust, and I have no tailpipes (makes them sound ridiculously deep). They looked udner the car and got back up and told me no it's just headers. Not sure how you miss a set of H pipes and two mufflers? They did end up letting me drive it home, with a ticket though. So yeah, it's cool with me when I can just get a quick, friendly, verbal warning.

Wow, you really do have some cop trouble. I'm only a young'un, but I haven't been pulled over once, and you know what I ride.

I can't really complain about the cops on scoots though. I've been pulled over a few times now on T2 because they think it's a dirtbike. I got pulled over once for speeding and the cop gave me a warning. Of course the Venus last night. I think I'm forgetting something? Regardless, considering I spent a long time riding 50-60MPH when the scooter speed limit is 30MPH and I used to pass cars in 50MPH zones and all that stuff, I'd actually say I've been fairly lucky with cops on the scoots. Now in cars, holy hell. I think I must have spent half my life in drivers improvement programs, point system conferences, license hearings, inspection stations, etc... It used to be kind of a joke to me, from just being young and not caring. Losing my license made me respect it more though. It's hard to go out looking for street races and not end up in trouble. They busted my ass with insurance rates. Now I'm terrified of speeding tickets. Last time I got one my insurance went up another $800/yr. I've been good lately, or good enough to not get caught, but my insurance company still sees me as a risk. It's odd how your points go off after a certain amount of years and they aren't supposed to affect you again, but even with a clean record my insurance barely dropped and when I got one ticket it went up that much. It really doesn't pay to screw around on the road.

I got home at an average speed of 55mph (over 10mi, some 30mph city riding. Supposedly, anyway) and even managed a race with a bloke in a Ford.
I'm still mystified as to why I still have a clean license.

Over here, I attribute it to scoots getting a lack of attention. There are cops that watch us, but I think a lot of the time if you're on the shoulder they probably aren't paying much attention to you.
So, did the Pig or the Ford win? I'm torn here and not sure who to route for.

I'm torn here and not sure who to route for. I won . The Ford was in front of me after a bridge (I has come up behind them), so I pinned it to get past on the 200 or so yards I had before a sharp corner. They also went for it (why they do they do this I don't know, they were happy doing 45 before I came along). I just managed to get in front and avoid getting squished by a tractor  A rather pointless exercise for me, as they took the next right. Scooters of all sizes here aren't banished to the shoulder, which I think is good. Probably cause it's for emergency vehicles only.

Too bad you didn't have a white sheet of paper to put under it to prove it was really white. Also since there is no tag what's the problem anyway? He probably didn't want to look like a fool and admit he was wrong so he stuck with the blue story.

We are supposed to pull to the shoulder to allow emergency vehicles to pass. Reg, it's actually on a flat black fender. The bracket in that pic isn't even installed. Here's a pic of it on the scoot. Look how blue that is. lol Maybe I shoulda asked him what color the speed limit sign looked? It doesn't really matter though. It just doesn't pay to argue with cops. Oh, and there are two reasons it matters. He said it's so bright that he couldn't even see the red tail and brake lights. I really don't get that. The other he didn't say but I know you aren't allowed to have lights mounted all over because it's a distraction. Red and blue are especially discouraged because the cops use those.

They are different everywhere..... I havent had any trouble out of either my blue or red lights. Have blue on the guilty and red on the ZX....But a friend in g-boro got hounded over his blue lights.(he's about 3hrs away)(now he uses green and no issues)..THey should want us to have plenty of lights.. Especially around here, ppl dont look at all. maybe they will see the color blur. ;D. (personally, as with going faster, is a matter of more safety for me. ) ... Good excuse anyway..

The only way you can legally use such lights and under car lights and all that is if you are parked and being stopped at a red light does not count. lol I know about the red and blue because they threatened a friend of mine too. He was a little over the top though. He had red strobes in 2 marker lights and blue in the other 2. It doesn't really matter though, any color works. I used to have green strobes in all of my marker lights on the stang and I people would still pull over if I turned them on at night. lol I rode around one night with a cheap little yellow flashing light with a magnetic base. I rode by a drug spot one night and I got my friend to plug the light in just as I mashed the gas coming at the area. People were haulin' ace.
