Do you have a plastic spacer between the carb and manifold? If not you are probably boiling the fuel in the bowl when you shut it off.

Brent you are the winner, the auto enricher is messed up, took it off and idles perfectly, is there a fix, what options do I have and can I run it with it off? Good job Brent and thanks to all for the help!! Friggin auto enricher, go figure, brand new came with carb from scrabbydogs! I might also add that when i plug up the autoenricher hole it stalls, it's taking in air. I can adjust the air screw diffwerent ways with partially covering hole, not good for tuning, hmmmm. what's gonna fix this deal? why would plugging the hole make it stall?

Is the auto enricher working? Does it expand and contract? If it does, it still may not be the issue. The symptoms may have just changed because that part of the carb is open to the elements.

appears to not be working, when removed it was quite warm almost hot to the touch, strange? I noticed when I sprayed carb cleaner in the atmospheric hose it came right out of the enricher where the needle seats in, also there is an adjustment at the top very center, tiny screw, moves it in and out. Quick question the part of the enricher needle that goes into a bronze fitting and the other end is in the bowl, I see another longer brass tube around 2 inches long tube with holes in it tiny pin holes, like 6 or so, do the end with the holes go up towards enricher or stay down in the bowl? Just trying to figure out why closing off enricher hole with my finger, it would stall?

Strike that, the enricher is working, won't idle with it installed , will idle after taken out (removed from carb) and can adjust air and throttle like I probably should, when I place finger over uninstalled enricher it stalls out? Checked carb and all is fine, clean, brand new carb, air filter is on. compression at 120 on the dot.

When I sprayed carb cleaner in the pilot jet it came out of air screw, shouldn't that be airtight? Maybee some teflon tape to get a seal? Would air leaking from air screw effect idle? hmmm.

That should be airtight as long as it's not screwed out too far. May be missing an o-ring or washer behind the screw? Never had that happen that I know of, but it should affect the idle.

Brent, new carb fixes everything, defective pilot jet, routing, sync, or whatever mysterious gremlins I had in that last carb. Fired right up perfectly, little tuning and idles great, purrs, will ride tomorrow to see how she'll run, first time on it. I'll let you know. I've had a lot of help from you Josh, Mike, really appreciate the help.
