I contacted a shop about an hour from me that I've heard some folks around here talk about doing 80cc kits on their GY6 scoots. I asked what the bore size was, thinking maybe it was really a 70 kit. They said it's 50mm. Here's some info I got from them when I asked about bearing issues with their 50mm kits...
"we've done about 20 bore kit installs and haven't had any problems bearing failure. Early on we had problems with the 80cc kit overheating due to aggressive driving and the owners not breaking in the top end properly; which is why we refuse to install without the performance head. We have our own bike that we did a 110cc (54mm) kit on, which requires upgraded head, carb, intake, and exhaust... again no bearing issues. "

It says 100cc but it's a 50mm, so it's more like 81.5cc. You'd have to have about a 58mm bore to get 110cc without a stroker crank and they never mentioned that. Here's their site if you wanna contact them about it... www.scooterboymd.com/
