well i ended up taking it back to where i bought it from they installed a new starter on it and it starts right up now. Rode it home from the shop and i was happy until i got home noticed it was leaking oil. took the plastics off and noticed it was leaking from the extra gasket so i took everything apart and left one gaskets no leaks now but i have lost alot of power and im topping out at 40mph. I check the timing and valves and they are ok.I know i need to do a compression test. At this point i believe it might be the rings might be replaced since ive taken this thing apart like twice. what do you think do you replace the rings everytime you take an engine apart?

I put my old ebay big bore kit in my friends scooter when i bought scrappys 52mm kit, no issues so no don't have to replace the rings each time.

i havnt done a compression test yet because i havnt bought the adapter for it. As for the spark plug i will check when i get home from work and for the carb i have an 85 main jet in there is that what you mean by jetted like?

Guys I’m an idiot!!! The reason why I was going so slow when I rebuilt the engine I placed the camshaft upside down with the hole at the bottom so the timing was completely out of whack smh. Rebuilt the head now it’s running like a top I wish lol. So I killed the battery trying to start it, so I use the kick start and guess what happens stripped the gears all over again fml. Also the cheap eBay exhaust broke on me from not attaching the straps so it broke where the pipe and muffler meet so i put the stock one back one i kind of like it, the eBay exhaust was too loud but there’s always a downfall with the performance. Other than that I’m enjoying the speed on this finally perfect day in New England.

Compression is prob higher and the e-start is struggling. You can check all engine/frame grounds as well as battery voltage. Check voltage at rest after charging the battery and hope for 12.5+ and check while cranking and hope for 9.6V or better. If the battery and connections are good, you may need to add a base gasket or something to reduce compression if you wish to ease e-starts.
Also you said you did nothing to the carb. You need to install a larger jet with a big bore kit, assuming it was in tune and not running rich stock.
