Hello Everyone, I just purchased a 2008 E-Ton Beamer 3 50cc for my son last week. Everything is stock but the washer has been removed in the variator and the previous owner put a different main jet in(atleast thats what he said). It ran ok but wouldnt idle very good so i tuned it the best i could and it idles ok now but i think the throttle sleeve is wore out. Anyway i ordered some much needed parts for it like rear brake shoes, master cylinder(partsforscooters) since the one on it the eyeglass is busted so unsure if caliper is any good and if the hose has a leak, 2Stroke JOG Minarelli 1E40QMB performance exhaust system(scrappydogscooters), Performance 24mm OKO Carburetor(scrappydogscooters), 2stroke JOG performance iridium plug(scrappydogscooters) and a Performance air filter 48mm(scrappydogscooters). I guess my big question is with the new exhaust and different air filter will this carb be ok to use? I ordered all this stuff before finding this site thats packed with awesome info and from what i've read i think i might have made a bad choice in the carb. I dont mind doing the work to get it right and suggestions or pointers are always appreciated.
I had mopeds when i young and yes i said mopeds lol but they were a pain in the ass. My first scooter was a Honda Spree early 80's and actually i bought 2. One was wrecked in the rear and the other was wrecked in the front. Pieced them together and tinkered with it to get it to a top speed of 35mph and i felt at the time it was a big accomplishment since there was no internet and performance parts were kinda unheard of but it was fun and i learned alot. 5 years ago i bought my oldest son a Honda Elite and just drilled out the restricting exhaust and it was good to go. He rode it for about 3 years before getting his first car. Now its time for youngest son and wanted to try something a little different, something a little more hands on i guess to do together.
Well thats my story and again any help or idea's is very much appreciated! Thanks!

The carbs on the etons are 18mm I think. 24 sounds way big on a 50. I don't know if the 08 is Rev limited but If it is that is the first thing I would fix. The are good little bikes. Taller primary grear, cast iron big bore kit and a pipe would make that thing scream. The cat iron kits are more forgiving than aluminum. You would have good torque and speed

I didnt see any green wires coming from the CDI so i believe there isnt any rev limiter on it. It goes around 35-37mph. I received the parts today and all looks good. The carb came with 2 extra main jets but i'll have to get a magnifying glass to read the numbers on them if theres is any. Also came with 2 extra long style jets which i think are the idle..one of em say 42 on it. I'm gonna try with the smallest jets first and see what happens i guess. I also received the JOG Minarelli 1E40QMB 2stroke performance intake manifold reed valve from scrappydog that i forgot to mention. Gonna start working on it Thursday so if there's anymore input i'd appreciate it. Thanks!

Welcome to the forum. You only really need a 24mm carb if you have a 70cc high end kit. A 17.5 or 19mm carb would work better with your setup. You can even run a lot of BBK's with a 17-19mm carb, and get good performance. Good luck with the mods

Having a hard time finding a 19mm with manual choke thats not 200 bucks...so im taking it that it would be a waste of time trying the carb I have cause its not gonna work?

Dell sells a kit from 75-100 or something like that for about $25 or treatland lets you buy packs of 5 in 80s, 90s.

I repaired the brakes and all good now. I ended up not even trying the carb cause its alot bigger than the original like you guys said. So the only performance part i installed was the exhaust and wow what a big difference, it goes 45mph easily now and maybe more but starts to vibrate(rims and tires not the greatest) and dont want to push it. Couple of things though and maybe you guys can point me in the right direction. 1. Idles fine when cold and for the first 15 minutes but after a long ride the idle seems a little high no matter what i do i cant get it to lower any.
2. When taking off it seems to rev up and act like its gonna take off real fast but feels like it shifts too soon(around 10mph) if that makes sense and then kinda slowly goes to 30mph and then launches to 40mph pretty quick and then gradual up from there,
Thanks again for your help!

Sounds like you might need lighter rollers to match the performance pipe. Most performance exhausts make more power by revving higher. This moves the power band higher. So you will need lighter rollers to keep the pipe in its power range.

Usually you need to richen the idle mixture if you can't keep it at reasonable revs with the idle speed screw and don't have any air leaks.

So you will need lighter rollers to keep the pipe in its power range. Ordered rollers and will mess with that next weekend. Not sure of the weight thats in it now but i have 4 grams coming. I'll try all first and see how it goes and then mix em to see whats better.
