Just saying hi half way through my trip. I can only get on with my iPhone so no pics or vids yet.
I'm in a small city (just a million people) aclimating to 8000 feet. That + jet-lag ia not fun...
Tomorrow I get on a train for the 25 hour ride into Tibet. 11,000 ft!!!
Missing my scoot. More later.

Hi. ;D You'll probably feel great once you get back closer to sea level.
So when are you gonna make a documentary about Chinese scooter factories?

Good travels! That road surface looks very, hmm, art deco. Is it smooth?

It was a little slick but concrete not tile. It was a river walk kind of thing. The cool thing was that in most of the city there was a separate bike / scooter road.
Every scooter in the city was electric. Very strange to see a bunch of scooters but all dead silent...

I saw a picture last year somewhere, of a "very large" dump pile of confiscated scooters in China. They were cracking down on them for emmisions? Thought it was kind of strange coming from one of the top manufacturing countries of gas scooters. So they obviously prefer the cleaner electric. How was the ride? You thinking to go electric any time soon? That would be so nice to share the bike trails we have.

They are making the transition from a massive amount of bicycles to a massive amount of scooters so electric is probably the smart move. But i don't think i can ever give up my 2T love.

Yeah, when I was in Beijing last year those electric scoots scared the crap outta me a few times! They had electric scoots and electric rickshaws and an electric wheelbarrow, all silent. I though they should put some hockey cards in the spokes or something to warn you as they approach!

Appropriate since most good stuff is blocked... BTW Brent you can promote this site as "Banned in China" if you want. LOL It was blocked at every Hotel i stayed at. I could only get on with my international cell. That is gonna cost.... Yup the silent thing almost got me several times. I thought of the cards in the spokes like when we were kids too.

It's amazing what a totalitarian government can do when it gives people no choice.... some for good, some for not so good.
