I actually tried the 788 without making sure it was the right size first :doh: and it ended up being way too short(90mm I assume)

I'm wondering if one of the belts is for restriction purposes? Or for different variator/clutch setup?
Thinner belt goes further into the variator/clutch on one end but on the other end it wont go as far out because the faces don't go close enough together? I would've thought that the thinner belt would also need to be shorter.
