Yeah, right now I'm topping off at 33mph at WOT. Not sure what's going on. I've been sick, so I haven't gotten to it at all. Probably wait till next season. I went for bigger jets, but that didn't work. Cleaned the air filter. New belt? Clutch springs? Contra Spring? Rollers? When I first bought it it went faster than that, and went up hills better. My mixture screw was at 3 turns, but the shop says 1 1\4-1 1\2.

My Honda Urban Express and Yamaha Towney would hit 40+ all day long . My pedal mopeds would do 30 to 35 with a breeze behind me . My Jonway Magnum would hit 45 ( according to the speedo ) all day long and sometimes 50+ . With a BBK pipe and modded CVT I can do 50 up a large steep hill. Here is some derestricting tips www.scootnfast.com/scooter/Tuning_mods/De-Restricting.htm

My clutch doesn't have a restricter. I don't believe my exhaust has a restriction, anyway it doesn't look anything like in the picture on the link. I bought it in the US at a seller that as far as I know does all the de-restricting. Restricting I thought was for European countries only. Kph or Mph? I could understand if it was Kph.

How much do you weigh? It makes a difference as does sitting up in the wind or leaning forward. That's a big scooter compared to most 50cc models so weight is definitely gonna be an issue. If you have ever pushed an empty grocery cart and a full one then you know what I mean. Takes more time to get it up to speed and more power to keep it there. Factor in wind resistance and somewhere between 30-35 MPH is respectable.

Just saw a video on putting on new clutches. To put on the belt the guy just lightly spread the clutch apart so the belt had more room to fit on to the variator clutch. Should it be that easy to spread? I pound my belt on with a hammer and a block of wood to spreed the clutch apart because it's to hard to spread apart. Is there something wrong here or am I just a weakling? Would this have anything to do with my top end?

Your just weak. J/K It should spread with some force but you shouldn't ever need a hammer to do it. You could bend the shaft. If it is very hard with 2 hands I would pull it off and look at it. Top speed is directly related to the clutch. There videos in the help section to show you how to disassemble it.

I have a stock Dong Fang DF50STE 4t. It does 42mph (GPS verified) with no wind. I weigh 175. Cruising is good at 30mph not working that hard and not screaming. The scooter is new (300 miles). Your scoot should go a little faster than that (36+mph).
