the pic i posted was from the back of the old cluster. Not sure how to go from two wires to one. I plan on pulling the sensor from the tank before I mess with trying to hook it up. The way i understand the sensor is that the resistance varies as the float moves up and down inside the tank. But when i put my volt meter on the connections to my old cluster there was about 10V between both wires and the ground wire. But polarity seemed to be reversed. Being an analog gauge it needs voltage to work? I just need to roll up my sleeves and dig into the wiring and figure it out. Thanks for the info about the blue/white wire.

It's a variable resistor attached to a float. One wire goes directly from sender to gauge. The other wire on the sender should be ground. The gauge should have a ground and a power input. Since there's a printed circuit inside you may not see every wire because it could get power or ground from across the board instead of directly from a wire.

You were right about it the blue/white wire being the correct wire for the gas gauge. Got it working. Bad news is the resistance range is not the same at about 1/2 tank it says i am almost empty. But this should encourage my wife to put gas in more often

Figure out fuel mileage via the odometer and use it to keep track of when to fill up.

I think the China clone wheels should fit. My shortcase and longcase clones and longcase yamaha use same axel size and spline. The shortcase yamaha uses a smaller axel size

when you say clone, are you refering to like a triton or something? Sitticus, i have a 90 axle shaft and a taotao 4t. if you would like i can see if they will fit each other. I will have to wait until this weekend though. let me know.. Do you have pics of engine installed?

the shaft size seems to be the same but different size splines. Don't have the engine mounted yet. Don't see the point without a wheel to go on it. Plus my wife is a hard core scooter rider she would rather get cold and wet then to drive my jeep to work. Going to check with a local shop to ask some advice about the wheel. My wife has the next two days off and I am hoping to get the engine installed.

Off to see the new Robocop movie. Don't see why they couldn't have a hot robo chick and not a dude.

My vino axel is smaller than the rest I admit I haven't counted splines on my clone stuff but I can count and measure in a bit

I think Brent used the gears and axel from his venus I don't know if he compared the axel from the venus to the 90 atv he bought but I guess they are the same or he would have said so

I put the scooter gears in mine because I didn't like the idea of the ATV ratio and wanted wheelies. Never tried the ATV gears.
