First i get hooked on Ruger 10/22's, now scooters? When does the madness end? Ruger 10/22's..hmm..let's see. I've got 4 25 round rotary magazines for those..they clip together to make 2 50 round ones. Couple of bolt buffer washers..2 Volquartsen trigger groups(adjustable 2-4 lbs)...a Picatinny tactical rail with Laser Sight and Tac light...a Boyds Camo laminated thumbhole stock. But no longer have the 10/22..I sold it and bought a Ruger 77 .22 Hornet Bolt Action since I reload and need the extra power for the Coyotes that have over run our state...eating livestock and peoples pets.. Anyway..back to Scooters. If you did not find the complete 60cc top end kit for it on Ebay..I will send you the link..it was like $69.00. Still hoping to get input on my original post. I am quite certain it would be info we could all use..and it is one of THE most overlooked replacement parts we run into issues with..and then think the carb went bad..vacuum leak developed..and many other things..when it is not the issue.. Somebody help us out here? Thanks, Glenn

Like when we put the piston in upside down. Might need to talk on 10/22 stuff. I don't have problems with coyotes anymore (were 5 packs around me) since the wolfs moved into the river bottom across the street. Wouldn't you know the male has a radio collar. Got to love the dnr

Its always good to have the right piston for the job for sure! The port windows are just for the boost transfers. Builds that require a slower piston (or dual ring), lower revving usually have a long piston skirt. Hence the need for "windows" to let the boost transfer port do work when needed. The "faster" pistons with shorter skirts dont have them because they dont need em. Allot of work can be done to even a stock piston for much gain! Read more about piston mods here.. 49ccscoot.proboards.com/thread/3463/piston-transfer-flow-workThe same thing can be done to the boost transfers. Part of port matching This is one of my favs for that few extra degrees ex, or trans duration 49ccscoot.proboards.com/thread/1304/filing-pistons-increase-port-duration

First 2T I rebuilt I had that happen..tore it back down and noted that the piston had huge window ports..but the old one had tiny ones. So after that I MATCH EVERY piston I replace. So going by the criteria ya posted..what do you think about this Kit below? Cylinder port hole is tiny..and the piston has NO PORT WINDOW..instead it just has a notch on the pistons bottom. Do you think the cylinder port hole is so small because it is designed to speed up incoming air/fuel mixture..or is this gonna choke out the flow make it a low power kit? Here is a pic of it..

Like you mentioned before, like a cam in a 4T its all about port timing and duration open. As far as that kit goes, i really dont know? I would assume its to increase velocity??.. I tried a knock off brand aluminum kit once. It had wacky port durations out of the box if i remember right?.. I never messed with it much
