Okay today it is in the high fifties time for a ride. I love just cruising around taking in the scenery. Only wish I had a few other riders. One fat guy on a scoot is thought of as comedy around here. I wonder what people would think if there were ten or fifteen of us?! Lol.

Rode sixty-seven miles today. Wonderful weather. I saw several motorcycles, a few side by siides and even one of those (IMO) ugly ass can am reverse trikes, bit NO other scoots. I did see one scooter in town, but it was jist a frame in the back of a truck full of scrap steel. It looks like I am the only person around.who enjoys a scooter ride. Oh well.

Might have better luck when it's consistently warm out. Some are prob packed up and temporarily forgotten ATM. Glad you got a good ride in anyway.

Just thought I would update this tired old thread. I was out riding the other day and found what I call a hill billy goldmine. I found a scootef junkyard. After a few minutes of talking to tje guy, I found myself walking through the skeleton yard. OMG. Ifound a scooter frame with a 500 block held on with hand made steel mounts, lever for gears next to the seat bucket and a geared wheel. WTF! I also found several high performance.scoots, all with parts gone, but still there were enough there that I am going to return on Friday for a " treasure hunt ". I saw a NICE bbk on whats left of a Vespa frame with a mineralli case, well half of the case any way, and a few good expansion pipes. If this is here, where are the riders?

Thank you Sitticuss. I just got lucky finding this guy. I cruise the back roads in rural areas looking for spots like this. Sometimes I get lucky and even if I don't find anything, I still get to ride.: )

I could live in a shack in the middle of a scooter scrapyard and happily bring scooters back from the grave to support myself. I used to visit the yards when I lived in colorado scavenging parts for my first car..Post a few pics if you can it would be very interesting to me.

Even before my accident that caused me to loose my good job, I would visit the junkyards for projects. I enjoy the work, and IMO,bringing something back from dead is way mote satisfying thsn just bolting new parts on to a new engine, Both ways are still fun though. lol

When I did get to go, I had an idea. I picked up 2 e ton beamers at first I got them for parts, but then I had an idea. I am going to build a daily driver, for less than 300. I am thinking of starting a build thread, and building this pn2beamer as a " red neck " rebuild. No high dollar parts, nothing fancy, just CHEAP. My hope is to gather all the tips ans info that I can, and then build a nice looking, good running bottom dollar scoot. Please check the builds section and feel free to add any tips or tricks.

Spend time in Logan county on occasion (WV.) Those hills are a bit much for most scoots.
