Several key points in Maine law; a motorcycle license and vehicle inspection is required for anything over 50cc. A vehicle 50cc or less is a moped. A vehicle over 50cc is a motorcycle.

Title is not required to register a private sale vehicle under 300cc or manufactured before 1995.  A bill of sale is required.
