So I put in the HiT Clutch and new belt....also took the Torque drive apart and serviced it....added some BB's under the spring to help it move a bit easier...I set the clutch up with the tightest main springs (39kg) and the tightest pillow springs (9.2kg). It really gets moving now with RPM hitting about 8000-8500 on the initial launch causing some micro wheelies....I think it could take a bit more but this is the tightest combination available. I also noticed my new belt measured about 17.5mm width and still rides about 3-4mm into the rear pulley at a stop. it almost seems like the belt is too narrow?...or its too short?...I really would like to have it riding on the outside edge of the pulley so I know its in the deepest gear possible for starts. The pulleys themselves are in excellent shape with no visible wear....aside form that I noticed a bit of chatter/roughness on initial clutch engagemnet....I hope that will go away after a few hundred break in miles....all in all im pretty happy thus far....I just want to get the belt situated a bit better. Any belt suggestions?..

Is the belt going all the way to the vari drive boss when at idle? If not your belt is probably too short? Ive noticed the factory Kymco (Bando) belts seem to be a tad short but i have not found a better replacement yet. I have an Athena belt to try but i am waiting for warmer weather to install and try it.

yea I agree....and yes the belt is riding on the Variator Boss at idle....I even spaced the vari a tiny bit to be sure....so I do believe a slightly longer belt would do....I see a 757-17-28 and a 759-22-30 available.....might be worth a try?...9mm longer in length but 1 mm thinner....hmmm

Heres a quick one-handed 0-50mph run I did to show how it runs....let me know what you think!

thanks!....I lightened the rollers a bit and the launch settles in at 8700rpm (9200-9300 on the stock tach) .....I still feel like its missing a bit of gear on the launch...so I think the belt might have to be swapped out for one a little longer...and maybe a tad wider.....
...another strange thing I noticed is the scooter revs out higher if I back off from wide open once im at full swing.....from a dig it feels good....but at 45mph up its pulling harder when i back off the throttle slightly...I tried jetting up but it made no difference...jetting down causes it to start bogging.....im wondering if its cvt related...

You might try raising the needle also. What does the plug look like.

like this... keep in mind this is an iridium plug....
And I assume you mean raise the clip on the needle...allowing the needle to seat more?....(kind of mimicking the act of backing off the throttle) ....

Raise the needle by lowering the clip to richen it up a bit at mid to 3/4 throttle.

I'd want more color on the plug. Don't know how plug reads differ with iridium though.

My iridiums tend to look the same as standards. At first glance it looks lean, but with all that black on the top of the threads and the sort of wet appearance it could be washing it off (rich). How far are you going on your jet swaps... like 5 numbers or 2.5 numbers or? Make sure you're not taking big jumps.

I think it is rich for sure....I am at a 118 main right now and the needle clip in the 2nd from top slot....If i drop the clip (raise the needle) the mid throttle range starts to sputter and cleans out at 3/4 throttle..I will try a 112 or 115 main jet next and see how the WOT range feels.....the last jet change I made down was to a 110....which seemed to be too lean(but that was without raising the needle..).and this plug has about 40 miles on it...so its fairly fresh....My experience with iridium plugs has been one that the plugs will not color as much as a copper plug.

Did some testing today....after a few 0-50mph tests with the lighter rollers I timed an average of about 10.6 seconds....which is about a full second slower than the heavier setup. So I went back the other way to a slightly HEAVIER setup than before and sure enough...the next set of 0-50 tests were a solid 9-9.2 seconds....thats even a half second faster than the previous 9.6!!....I also noticed the scooter lost most of that "full throttle is slower than part throttle" issue....SOOOOOOO.....now im thinking maybe this setup isnt as rev happy as you would expect at 10-12k rpm...and the midrange is more useful around 8000-9500rpm...I also was thinking maybe the heavier rollers are just producing more belt grip and I need a tighter drive spring?...from what I can tell its a factory spring....(as is the drive) good to see some progress though!.... BTW...I weigh 165lbs....just for the record. Lighter rollers Heavier rollers I also pulled my seat foam off to get a better tuck while riding...so far I like it!

My RSII 70 in an a/c application runs into the low 10k rpm but stops pulling around 9800. So I think your pipe is a limiting factor. Your setup is a good streetable configuration with good broad range grunt.

If the factory tach is off like you said that would explain the difference in revs that I saw on my friends. Also these things are all different even with the exact same bike and setup. I think a 1k or 1.5k contra may help but it will in my experience it then will like a gram lighter rollers. A 118 main does sound big but if it isn't bogging maybe it's good. I'm running a 102 with a similar filter setup. Good work!
