And yeah, 25mph is just insane. Legislation has been proposed here in NC to basically eradicate scooters by turning them all into motorcycles in the eyes of the "law" (dl, ins. and everything required). It has not passed but i fear that the more scooters that get put on the road, eventually the "law" will be super pissed about all the money they are missing out on and find a way to push it through. its all about the money. requiring a drivers license, insurance and everything doesn't make us, them or anyone any safer. I like the way Brent put it, dont assume someone else is speaking up. We all should take this seriously and contact our representatives and let them know in a nice way that if they vote for any legislation that jeopardies our hobby/passion/basic transportation/FREEDOM....then we vote them OUT. I have contacted mine and i pray everyone here does too! OMG! I put "changing moped law" in google and the FIRST ONE on the list is LAFAYETTE, Ind. ! That place is scooter HELL. www.wlfi.com/dpp/news/news_wlfi_lafayette_moped_laws_200811131201_rev1""There's too many of them on the street that should not be there...and well, I just don't like them," said Jim Fain, of Lafayette. Well I dont like your car jacka$$. Well anyway, I hope everything works out but if I lived there I would move! With regard to the link above.....I wish the people making those comments could understand that it is IMPOSSIBLE to take away someone elses freedom without putting your own freedom at risk!! :light: :scoot2: :cop:
Yeah, I just got pulled over the other day. It was nice the other day (think it was 50-55 degrees) so I went to the gas station, filled up the tank, and went for a ride. Rode around for a couple hours and then went home. It was still nice later so I went for another ride around 7:45 or so. Went all the way down 52 and to the west side. Decided that was far enough so I turned at the BP to head across campus to get home. I turned left onto Northwestern and as soon as I turned and got going I see blueberries and cherries. I looked behind me and sure enough they were pulling ME over. So, I pulled over and shut my scoot off and got off of it. The officer comes up and asked if I knew why he pulled me over. I said "No." And then he says he pulled me over because of the blue lights. (I put a couple blue led's on my scoot. You might be able to see them in my avatar pic.) I said they're on a switch, I can turn them off. He says Ok and asks to see my ID. I was like ok here you go. Another cop shows up. They asked me about the scooter, where did I get it etc. I told them I bought it from a friend of mine. Then they wanted to check the serial # or VIN# or whatever. Stood there and talked with the cops for a couple minutes wile they ran their check. Everything came back good. So he said I was free to go.
Guess I got lucky. No ticket for the lights or nothing. After they saw that it wasn't stolen they let me go.

Im glad you didnt have any more trouble! Yes, red and blue are "no, no,s" to the law. Sounds like a classic 'VIN stop-warrant check' to me. The lights were a good excuse tho. We should go riding sometime!? Jason (shakerdriver) and i ride. Thinking about traveling out of town when it warms up some.

Only went about 10 miles though. It was a little cold today. :freezing: We'll have to get together sometime and cruise. :riding:
