Congratulations! Justice at last.
Funny, I got pulled over 5 weeks ago riding home at night. I thought they had me for speeding, but no. He pulled me over for not wearing eye protection. In FL you don't need a flipping helmet, but it's illegal to not have glasses on. So they checked me and the scoot out, and eventually wrote me a ticket for not having my MC endorsement. I protested that it was a 49cc, but he said the rego said 50, and 50 and up was the letter of the law. I was pretty sure he was wrong, so while he dicked around in his cruiser, I pulled up the DMV website on my phone. Sure enough, the law said "above 50" not 50 and up. When he came back I tried to show him the page. He refused to look and when I kept protesting, he said he would arrest me if I didn't "get that thing out of my face." So I had to STFU (which was very hard for me) and just said "ok man; see you in court." When the court date was getting close I wrote the traffic dept an email laying out the facts. A few days later they replied "case dismissed. " Those are sweet words! I didn't even have to go in.

your nicer then i would have been i would have asked for a supervisor to come out and filed a complaint against the officer they always say ignorance of the law is no excuse well they shouldnt be ignorant of the laws they pretend to enforce today i had a run in with a rent a cop and tomorrow i will be asking the property to fire him for giving me shit for parking at the bike rack and here in wi that is legal and there were no signs about no moped parking then the tries to tell me that motor vehicles arent allowed there any ways when just the other day he had his rent a cop jeep parked by the bike rack on the side walk

Right ON! :thumb: Good for you! I told you in the beginning that it would turn out better than you expected. The cops and the DA's love to scare people into a guilty plea rather than work for one. They realized you were gonna stand your ground and they backed off. Score one for Joe citizen!
  :riding:

grimsby53, that's the way to do it, let the law work in your favor, and the Judge and City attorneys deal with the ignorant ones.Worked for a bogus ticket my kid got. If you had your registration on you it probably said 49cc.
jmkjr73, that's right, LOL. If it qualifies as a moped in WI it can park at the bike rack! Good luck getting things set strait. Gonna have to carry the motorcycle manual with you.

i used to have a copy in the scoot seat but i forgot to get it put in this spring so far the rent a cop kept saying private property but when you read the law they can say i cant park at a rack on private proerpty but it has to be posted i have another trick up my sleave if they are going to say i cant park there at that mall get 50 scoots to show up and take up 50 spaces with signs that says east town mall wont let us park at the bike rack but whats funny is i have been parking there for years and no one has ever said anything and there has never been a sign i have had a few people say something but when i point out the moped plates and say its treated like a bicycle for parking they drop it as i normaly chain up to the racks

I feel sorry for them  . Ive done the same thing tho , before i knew any better! And when my case wasnt so chalked full of BS and i might have actually been guilty of a crime of some sort :stars:

Just like it should have been from day one. But ya know . Thank you Mr. Mike Lohorn ;D Wow, I'm sorry i missed the good news robert... CONGRADULATIONS MAN...  .. I know you were stoked about that.. That's awesome Well, t figures i woulda spoke to soon.. I got pulled on the ag last week.(usually dont ride much at night). It was after dark. At 1st he said he pullled me for speeding, just gave me a warning on speeding BUT did write me a ticket for having my blue ACCENT, SIDE MARKER lights on.. Told me i could be impersonating a officer/.... :jaw:  :stumped: I am on a scooter officer, not in a car with flashing blues or anything but of course he didnt care... Told me that if i cut them off, they'd drop the charge. :stumped: So, then i started to wonder why he didnt give me a speeding ticket since it WOULD HAVE stuck...IDK, court on 6/15... Man, i'll definately have to be home before dark with the zx, since she has the same side marker lights but red AND about 15 red led's under(needs about 8 more...lol.... :jaw:

Aren't all of your add-on lights switched? If not, they should be. Especially red or blue lights.

red lights can only be visable from the rear so if you can see them from the front you cant run them and blue lights on the street are a no no every where and even green lights are a no no that is the forest service
