Today i found i've been quite lucky. Went for a ride and on this long straight i went WOT for like 20 seconds and i noticed it was holding back a bit after about 10 seconds. I noticed this a couple of times earlier after i swapped back the stock cdi (athena cdi was broken). I thought it was a slight rich bog because on the previous engine (with exactly the same setup) i ran a 92MJ and with the new ported and flowed cases it seemed more happy with a 98MJ.
But this appearing rich bog annoyed me so i did a plug chop after some WOT speeding. It read lean! Man this engine has been quite merciful with me!
So put a 102MJ in and it runs a tiny tiny bit better now and the bog is gone. Didn't do a plug chop afterwards because it runs okay now.
I also got a peugeot SV for free! It's the black one from the France roadtrip. I think those peugeot's have honda engines like the Dio's. So im trying to figure out if i have one of those legendary AF16 or AF18 engines. Anybody know how to indentify them?

I wish I can tell you we somewhat got none of any real awesome scoots here in the US. I'm talking about large bore 2 stroke scoots. Gilera runner, piaggio zip, typhoon 125, ect ect

Yeah i think america never really got into scoots apart from a small portion of people gathered here But you guys have two stroke CVT snowmobiles! Those engines man...damn. BTW i found that the peugeot SV i got for free is actually a Honda Lead HF05 (50cc version). They are exactly the same scoots but rebadged. I also found that we here in Holland have Honda Spree's and Honda Elite's (also rebadged). They're called Peugeot Rapido and Honda Vision. They go for crazy low prices because they aren't cool enough...you know kids want the aerox's, Aprilia SR's, Beta Arks etc. So for like €100-200 you can have yourself one of those scoots people die for in America

Trouble again. For some reason i can't get it tuned right at WOT. Tried some different jets, but to no avail. It keeps on sputtering and bogging at WOT. I shouldn't have to try this many jets so i think the problemen lies somewhere else than the carb setting. Starts with one kick and runs good everywhere below WOT sooo...
I think it's an ignition problem (again). I'm still using the 20yr old stock stator, rotor, coil and cdi and maybe they're just done for. So im gonna try a new plug tomorrow and again try some other jets. If thats not gonna work im gonna kick it in the corner until i reach that point that i think i need to buy a HPI innerrotor.

Get an inner rotor Lucas!!!!!! It's the only way to go bro!!! Yup, sooner or later i will (must) get one. But they're so expensive...it will be the single most expensive part on my scoot. Right now im actually quite done with spending all my money on this damn scoot. But then i'm doubting which one to get... There's this all out racing ignition with tiny flywheel but without lighting coil. There's the possibility to mount a seperate but very weak lighting coil (10W output @ 10k rpm)...i happen to have one of those seperate coils from a previous build. www.hpi.be/item.php?item=068K029€200 Or buy the semi racing version with bigger/heavier flywheel, BUT with a built-in 55W lighting coil. They're 20% more expensive. www.hpi.be/item.php?item=210K029€250 There are other ignitions like PVL, MVT, Leonellii, Selettra, Italkit, Stage 6, Polini, Artek, R-Speed, Metrakit but most of them don't have a lighting coil or are just too expensive. With others i doubt their quality. I know for a fact HPI makes top quality and their experience reaches beyond only scooters.

Yeah i know MVT. But i doubt that they have put more development in their parts than HPI. HPI only does ignition systems you know, thats their main focus. MVT does a lot of things and ignitions are just a 'part' of their portfolio. Do they even make their own ignitions? Or buy it from another manufacturer?
Plus HPI gives lifetime warranty. Broken CDI? Cracked coil? Just sent it to them and they send you a new one back for free.

Today did some work on the axis. It wasn't running right. It had a real bad bog beyond 3/4 throttle, and i really couldn't rev beyond that point. Actually exactly the same problems i had when i came back from the roadtrip to France. So, the only stock and still original (21y/o!) parts on the engine are the ignition stator and the secondary gear. The gears don't cause these kinda problems so in my opinion it just had to be the ignition. Also some other little details made me point towards the ignition. Had another stator layin around and after i swapped that it ran a million times better. I still need some carb tuning since that got way off when i was swapping jets around when i still had that faulty stator. Also checked the reeds because they might have a broken petal. Reeds where perfectly fine. Also checked the airbox, maybe that was clogged with whatever what? Nothing wrong there too. I made some pics of the inside of the airbox, maybe interesting for ppl wanting to build one too. pics will come later since my internet speed is slower than a 56k modem atm -_-'
