You'll prob want to measure the conrod small end and check it vs a service manual spec. Look and feel for irregularities in the small end bore.

Any of the specs in a Yamaha Minarelli manual like the Jog or BWS or Zuma should be good I'd think... if you can find them. Maybe I'm just overlooking them, but this is about all I found in what I have from Yamaha. I know I've seen specs for the 12mm pin conrods in Chinese manuals.

So, after a long time there's a new update. Bought a new 12pin 'TRD' (twins racing division) crank. It's custom build in italy with the crankwebs from a Malossi RHQ and the conrod from a Polini Evo crank. The big-end bearing is a so called 'silver caged' bearing...at least thats how they call it in Holland. Also bought a new cylinder, again the Metrakit SP3 70. And AGAIN bought it on discount! It was the last item they had, lucky me! They where willing to switch the pin10 piston for a pin12 piston for free, without any hassle... GOOD JOB EUROSCOOTERS! I also did some work on the cylinder. Dunno if it will do any good, but it's more for my own peace of mind. Well, pics:

Bought a new shock last week I was looking for something semi-high quality but not as craazy priced like the malossi RS suspensions. The option to adjust the damping could be a nice option. It had to be somewhere between 240 and 260mm's long and my budget was about €100. Searched and searched and searched and then came across this: So...now i'm wondering...if you look at the shock. You can see the adjusting knob is at the top secton of the shock while the gas reservoir and damper itself is in the lower secton. This would mean the rod is hollow in order the be able to adjust the damping, right? I guess my tecnical knowhow about shocks is reaching until there...can someone explain?

Well, how do i like it... It's a true sport/racing shock. Very short travel, about 2 inches or so. And it's really stiff. So for comfortable cruising it isn't the best choice.
I set the spring preload on the weakest position becouse im only 140 pounds or so. The shock sets nicely to about 3/4 inch when i sit on the scoot. So the spring itself isn't too strong i think.
Would i buy it again? Yes, becouse it was really cheap compared to other adustable shocks. Unfortunatly Sebac (or the brand name) doesn't excist anymore. So you won't find too many anymore.

I'm really bored right now so im gonna post a semi useful update. Actually i should be working on my thesis project since im graduating in a month from my bachelor in applied sciences. Anyway... Last couple of wheeks been trenching the cases...this is what they look so far. Not finished yet, so they look a bit rough. I'll post again some pics when they're done. Also bought a 12'' 1.85 wide pitbike wheel for the diskbrake upgrade im gonna do, no pics of that. And this week bought an athena CDI with variable advance. Don't get that advance curve though... Shouldnt it start off way advanced and when the revs go up the advance gets less until powerband peak and then advances again? When i compare the HPI innerroter and the Top Performances cdi's with both variable advance curves none of them look alike. HPI CDI Top performances CDI Maybe someone can explain? I like the HPI curve the most becouse it starts off with most advance and then gently drops off.

Thus far nothing really happened here. Bought some parts like a 1.60 inch wide 12 inch pitbike front wheel, Yamaha Neo's front disk brake lever and caliper, Doppler steel brake lines. Worked on the cases a bit. Got a Dremel for my birthday so now i have my own! But progress is slow. I'm so busy with my school thesis im working non stop for the last couple of months. Slowly sourcing parts and stuff so when i'm done with school i can build up this thing right away!

Aight. I have set myself a new goal for the summer. Participate in a special scooter roadtrip from Amsterdam to Dyon (France). It's a 900 mile trip (450mi to 450mi from) and i'm gonna do it on the 70mph Axis! www.google.nl/maps/dir/Amsterdam/Dijon,+Frankrijk/@49.8420458,4.5013103,6z/am=t/data=!4m14!4m13!1m5!1m1!1s0x47c63fb5949a7755:0x6600fd4cb7c0af8d!2m2!1d4.8951679!2d52.3702157!1m5!1m1!1s0x47f29d8ceffd9675:0x409ce34b31458d0!2m2!1d5.04148!2d47.322047!3e1 The idea is just ride on your cheap ugly beater all the way to France and do some stupid assigments on the way. Like a cannonball run kinda thing. www.facebook.com/BourgondischeBarrelsYou guys prob don't understand a thing that's written there but if you look at the pics you'll get an idea. Man, this seems the coolest thing to do! Now i need to make sure the axis is done before june 22th.
