We had some of that stupid weather for a bit here. I feel for ya. As I posted somewhere else, I went out one night and the heat index was still 106 at midnight. It was higher than that one night, but I stayed home for that one. It's amazing how much nicer a 90 degree day feels with normal humidity after you just had a 102 degree day with 70% humidity.

At least there are some clouds around now and there is rain to the NE. Wow 106 at midnight.... that is crazy.

Air temp here 103 today. Took some newspapers to recycling ctr. on scooter. It was on the verge of being painful moving through the baking air.

I find it weird you guys are sweltering and we are only in the upper 80's to mid 90's here in SoCal. We've really had a string of good luck last few weeks here. It's usually well over 100º right about now and there's another cold front due later this week to bring us back that marine layer in the morning and highs in the 80's like in May/June.
Stay hydrated people! Put on a wet tee shirt for a little extra help. It'll make you sweat less

Hydration is a big thing for me. I had heat stroke in 92 shooting at the Barcelona Olympics and now i am very sensitive to heat and de-hidration.

I'll drink plenty, but I'll save the wet tshirts for the ladies. A friend of mine is in SoCal. He said it's so hot one day. I asked how how and it was 92 with low humidity. I laughed at him. But yeah, I always though FL and CA were supposed to be rough summers. Half the time we are hotter here on the national maps. AZ is still representin' though. lol

No really Brent, a wet shirt is great for staying cool unless you are in high humidity in which case your shirt is prolly already wet. I went to Houston for a couple weeks in summer and by 8 A.M. it was frickin' hot as hell and I had to have a fan on me all night just to sleep it was so hot. I can't imagine why anyone would want to live in such a miserable place as the gulf coast. The bugs are as thick a snowflakes in a blizzard for crying out loud!

I went to FL when I was young and even noticed the bugs then. Saw a grasshopper as big as a brick. Got a pic somewhere, but that was before digital cams. lol

 I know how that heat and dehydration can treat a person Tim :barf: ! TNG was a perfect example :stars: .... I forgot to mention that my "overheating" issues were being brought on by a medication i was on  ! Weened off the meds and no more overheating :thumb: . I was out in the heat a few weekends ago(it was 110 with the index) and had a blast out riding BMX :riding: . The heat is no joke tho fellas. Some of you already know but it, overheating can drop the biggest baddest dude or chick in no time flat. TNG is my perfect example :swear: ! I spent over 6 months prepping for that event! I know, i know, Skeedr sucked compared to now and then runs but i still woulda brought home a trophy if i hadnt redlighted or anything. But the heat made me sick :help: ! I felt it coming on my last practice run. I was in the staging lane thinking, "man im hot!" as my visor on my helmet fogged up and my head was pounding. After that pass, (my best pass of the day mind you) i was DONE!!! My Pop was on my ass as i sat on the bed of truck with my head spinning :spin: . He said, "get on there, yer gonna win!" I said, "Pop, i couldnt stay on there right now if you tapped my ass to the seat!" :banghead: It sucked but thats life.....Ya win some, ya loose some, and sometimes ya cant win or loose........... Sorry to stray

Hey, it gets really hot in the Plains States too. Highs for today were to be 107-108 in Central Kansas.
The wet t-shirt is a good idea. When I have to work out in the sun/heat I always wet down my bucket hat and shirt.... makes all the difference in the world.
If you ever have to drive in a car in extreme heat w/o air conditioning eat crushed ice constantly. It will keep you hydrated as well as cool (reduce body's core temp.).

You might need one of those popup meat thermometers to be sure you aren't well done!
