There is not enough room to do it quite like yours due to the shock being in the way. But that gives me an idea There is a little room where the oil tank was, and there is loads of room in the seat bucket next to the battery. I saw a thread somewhere where a guy built an airbox for a project scoot. It had lots of volume if I remember correctly, and was designed for performance. How would I go about calculating and designing a airbox? I cant seem to find anything on the web searching the subject. Yeah i recall seeing the airbox build myself,im assuming he didnt add any dimesions too the airbox build just pictures,i would calculate the dimesions off a stock 90cc airbox, just throwing some ideas out there!!!

I cant even get this flipping thing to idle right! I am going back to the 21mm genuine Dellorto carb tomorrow, screw this 19 mm dell clone! By the way, found out today this scoot is a Qianjiang B-05 50 T. Apparently another type of ZIP clone.

I never had issues with my 19mm dell clone? Air leak somewhere?

I never had issues with my 19mm dell clone? Air leak somewhere? It sure is acting like it. Started when I switched to this carb though. I did notice the pilot jet ends up recessed in the hole when it is seated on this 19mm clone, whereas the one in the genuine Dell sticks out about an 1/8". Makes me wonder if the pilot jet is not getting enough gas.

that could cause that issue. could you put a washer on it? how is it when the engine is warmed up? to small of a pilot jet maybe?

that could cause that issue. could you put a washer on it? how is it when the engine is warmed up? to small of a pilot jet maybe? The problem existed after warmup, and after trying 3 different larger pj's I put the 21mm carb back on along with the latest airbox. Even with the more restricted airbox, I had to go back up on jetting. I easily got the carb halfway tuned again. I don't know what is going on with the 19mm dell clone, I could not even get it to idle consistently. I have to say this airbox is much quieter than anything I have tried so far.

I got it tuned up ok as far as I can tell, I only did one short test run because it is pretty cold here today.
I also made a few changes to the CVT because I broke all of the guides again. I thought I had that problem straightened out but apparently I did not. I installed a new belt and went to a stock short spring with a BB base for the rear pulley. For some reason I ended up with the belt riding about 5mm low in the rear pulley, but the launch is still great. Top speed is 52 MPH. That is slower than earlier in this build, so I have some tweaking to do somewhere. I would like to get it back to around 57 MPH by Tuesday using this setup so I will have a base line established. The new CVT parts I ordered from autotech355 should be here by then, and I want to get them installed and setup to see if they are going to work out or not.
I also cleaned up the scoot just a bit. There is a layer of crud on this scooter that I have been trying to get cleaned off since I got it, but I think it keeps growing back LoL!

I put the CVT all back together from where I had it torn apart test fitting the BWS 100 stuff. It is not supposed to get above freezing here for the next 2 days, which is rare for us. So I dont know if I will get any test runs done anytime soon.

It's even cold down here in sunny Fl. No flip flops, freeze warning tonight and to cold to do any epoxy work on my tank. Should start warming up Saturday.

So I dont know if I will get any test runs done anytime soon. It's not supposed to get above freezing here in the Columbia area either and I'm hating it too. I want to ride really bad. Oh well I guess I'll have to keep myself busy with CERT and ham radio and contemplate where to ride when it warms up

Tonight was a first of sorts. It was the first time I ever kicked a BB over with the kicker. I was surprised a bit by the feel of it. Now I know why it has been hard to get it started with the e-start, I thought something was wrong with the battery or starter.
After installing the kickstart components, I decided to check compression for the first time on this build. The estart pushed it to 150 and the kicker got it to 160, also I just realized I forgot to hold the throttle wide open while checking compression, so it is likely even higher than 160, as far as my krappy tester is concerned anyway!

It is supposed to warm up to 60 / 65 tomorrow and Sunday, before cooling back down to the mid fortys for the week. I plan to get some riding and tuning done this weekend!
