Check on your local craigslist. You might have more luck finding folks working from their homes for some spare change that are more likely to spend the time they need to make it right, and probably charge less hourly than the bigger shops. Very true!!! Most have scooters and or mopeds close to their heart and are willing to help more in that area ;D. Like me lol Im too far from you tho I would have to agree with stepthrutuner though, a 52 main is way too big!! My 21mm carb came with a 60 pilot(dirtbike carb) and it would hardly run at idle with no filter.

So the air filter is arriving in the morning. I have been seeing on some threads that I need to oil the filter? What is that all about? Do I need to oil it when I first get it even though it is brand new? How often do I need to clean and oil it? Do I need to get Uni filter oil or can I use some other type of oil, maybe the 2 stroke oil I use for my scooter. Will someone please explain to me the complete installation and cleaning process of the uni pod filter. Thanks.

THe oil helps it trap smaller particles of dirt. You can use UNI oil or basically any oil intended for foam filters. It's a simple process to clean and oil. Depending how dirty it is, rinse the filter with water or soak it in a filter cleaner then rinse it and let it dry. Once it dries you spray a light coat of oil on. I pretty much clean them when they look dirty, not by any certain mileage or anything. You should oil the filter before use.

The air filter is coming in the mail today and I am wondering about the process for oiling it. I hear that you need to oil it every time you clean it, is this true? Also, do I need to oil it today when I install it even though it is brand new? I dont have any foam filter oil, can I use something else? Maybe the 2 stroke oil I use for my scooter? Will someone please walk me through the oil process and let me know if I need to do it today.

So I installed the air filter easily. I used the Jpipe to make an elbow, everything fit exactly. Turned the scooter on and reved it, sounded amazing. Got on to take it for a spin and thats where I had problems. As soon as I am sitting on it and give it 1/2 throttle the engine bogs out and dies. What does this mean? Should I upjet the main, downjet the pilot? I am starting to get frustrated.

Obviously the foam sock is allowing too much air in. I would put the stock air box back on and then drill holes one at a time in the filter cover to de-restrict it. Drill a hole and test, drill the hole bigger and test etc... til it runs good. The stock air boxes aren't crap. They're actually quite good at what they do. The air that goes in the holes you drill still must pass through the filter so it's all good unless you ride in the rain, but the foam sock will suck in water too so it's all the same anyway.

Start with a 95 and do plug chops and reads.

He already said his plug was black so I think he got tha shaft from the "mechanic"
Drilling progressively larger holes in the standard filter would be very instructional IMO

After ordering this filter, waiting for it to come, building the elbow, buying filter oil and cleaner, I am getting this thing to work!! Plus it sounds awesome. I called the mechanic that did the work on it today and he said that he will rejet my carb for free, so that is what I am doing. I do like the idea of the drilling holes in the air box. If for some reason I have to switch back to my air box after getting this pod filter to work, can I just drill holes in it until it works. I am guessing that if I put it back on after rejetting my carb, I am going to run too rich. So I can just keep drilling holes in it until it finds its happy place?

Yea.. I would do some long test runs before you are positive. If you drill to many, or to big a hole. You can always tape over it.
