well here is what I found out, without the air filter box it will go past 30mph. so it"s not getting enough air. so I cut some of the filter foam and put it over the carb inlet and it will go full speed, the air box is the problem. I am going to get a performance filter for it. thanks for your input.

Hi from another member in MI. I'm in the Thumb just off M53 (Van Dyke) near Marlette. I used to live in Macomb county most of my life before moving up here 8 years ago.

I am a FLA transplant originally from MI. Most of my family is from the "thumb"  I grew up around Lapeer- Columbiaville. I'm a Michigander in heart, but my blood has thinned- I'm a true Floridian now! dan50- my sister lives just down the road from 'Scott's quick stop'. My nephew has a buck on that pole every year  |

Dan, i got a lot of family in the Harvey Marquette area..you close to that? Marquette in in the Upper Peninsula, Marlette is in the Thumb. I like going up to Marquette in the summer. Great scenery around there. |

My parents are in Crystal River. I'm down south in Stuart just north of Palm Beach. We do have good weather but I'll say this. When I was in Denver and it was in the single digits it didn't seem as cold as it does here when it's 40. The humid air here makes hot and cold weather feel much more extreme.

I just picked up a 1974 vespa ciao, cleaned fuel system, runs nice. I only buy mopeds, not scooters, so far anyway. so now I have one French, one Japanese, and one Italian.
