Milly, you have earned a day of peace. Pack some food, drink, and walk, no mechanical problems, to your nearest good view place, sit and think nice thoughts. You deserve it. Lol I be sat at home with flu at the moment and maybe tomorrow as well by the looks of it but been catching up with paperwork.

Milly, you are a one man wrecking machine. Have you been listening to the seagulls again? Funnily enough the seagulls are going to be posted on signs round here once I get them printed. About 5 miles away a windfarm is being built and may or may not run pylons nowhere near anywhere here. So the village is filled with Dim Pylons so I am doing Dim Gwalod ones to post on them which is No Seagull's 😊

Those horizontal axis windmills are very dangerous to birds. They should use vertical axis windmills which don't pose a big danger to birds and are much more robust and efficient, and ban the horizontal ones. The horizontal axis windmills look more like 'proper' old Dutch windmills and western windmills used to pump water so they look familiar to people. They also give knights something to joust with....

Sorry guys. When I wrote the previous post I was suffering from old-brain syndrome. My brain was wandering among too many projects while composing. The meaning got completely scrambled like my brains. I like vertical axis windmills for many reasons. I think the horizontal axis designs are completely stupid.

A day late, but, yesterday:
Stripped the tmax down and changed the filters while a club mat changed the brake pads. (Team work makes the dream work) Tomorrow, another club mate and I will tackle the V-belt, oil, rollers, spark plugs, and finally install some of those seat stay springs so the seat will stay up.
Maintenance, maintenance, maintenance. Not sexy, but I've had it for 3 years and put 24K miles and counting on it.

Out of curiosity 50m3one what are the engines like for access when doing maintenance, easy to remove the plastic or a pain?

Yeah, it's a pain. You have to remove a ton to get at anything. I'm due for the valves and not looking forward to that job at all, but seems like everything I've seen indicates that they will need adjusting. The engine is very difficult to get to even after you remove the plastics.
Once you remove the plastics the first time, it's easier the second time.
My philosophy was originally that I'd be happy to pay someone to do the work for me because the plastics are such a pain, but rising labor costs have beat that out of me, so I'm doing the work myself now. Especially when a shop will charge ~4 hours of labor for dealing with the plastics alone. Where I'm at, that equates to ~$500.

Something for me to avoid as I tend to do my own 50m3one. Meanwhile I have put on the new tyre on the rear of mine a tiring job with man flu. I got so hot had to work for a bit with my glasses off as they kept steaming up. Job now done and rest time

Got the belt, rollers, and spark plugs done on the Tmax tonight. Still remains to re-install plastics, change oil, and install the new spring seat stay holders.
It's been ~12k miles since last belt change. Belt was 0.5 mm away from being off spec. Rollers were pretty worn with lots of flat spots - I did not change them for last 12k mile service. Replaced with some Dr. Pulley round rollers I got on clearance - 18 and 17 g alternated. We'll see how that differs from the stock 18g. Initial tests on the throttle were very smooth, but won't fully know until getting out on the road with it. Have a 800-900 mile weekend coming up in a couple of weeks so will have a good idea after that. Also changed out the "sliders" with fresh OEM ones - they were pretty worn.
Otherwise, all the parts looked good. Cleaned out and refreshed some grease. Seals looked good.
Huge thanks to 49cc Scoot - re-watched sections of the clutch and variator videos a number of times during the work to make sure I was applying enough grease (and the right grease) in the right places and not forgetting anything in the process. Simpler than using the shop manual on my phone.
Likely to work on the rest of it tomorrow evening.

The cub headstock bearings top and bottom, easier on a full sized motorcycle imo. Got some new old stock genuine races

Cleaned the scooter ready to be looked at tomorrow or so I thought. Chap has been in communication with me for a week now. Told him delivery is possible once been up and seen it. Gave me his address to work out delivery costs for a 100 miles round trip Next message he tells me to take it down as he trusts me not to rip him off. I replied no way politely he can catch a bus up to the town and I collect him and run him back with the Lambretta if we agree on a price or back to the bus when it's due, no response all silent good old Facebook 🤣 And he's been telling me all the time how he so much wants it.

I could tell straight away he wasn't serious. No swapsies were offered.

I took T2 to a cars and coffee put on by a local classic car club. They said everything was welcome so be careful what you ask for or a Chinese scooter may show up. LOL I met up at my friend’s house early and rolled across town to the event with his 66 Buick Wildcat and another friend’s 65 Pontiac GTO. Parked right between them. One of these things is not like the others. I enjoyed it. Only one couple really had many questions about it, but everyone was nice. I was expecting more like, hey can you park that somewhere else but it wasn’t that way at all. Fun day. I enjoy being around old cars. I rolled through town with the 66 Wildcat behind me and he said he wished he had a camera in his car so I could see the way people react when I ride by. Said it’s one of the only times he’s ever taken his car through town and hardly anyone seemed to notice it. LOL
