Hi!
Here are the parts I've got on my engine: Stage6 Racing AC 70cc MVT Millenium ignition Tecnigas RS 2 Foam filter Stage6 manifold Stage6 V-force 3 BGM Pro PHBG 21mm Doppler S2BR variator (same as Malossi MHR) Malossi rear pulleys (Overrange) Stage6 clutch & bell Tuned block
Malossi doesn't do Overrange sets for CPI, so I built my one. But there's a little problem, my belt is now too short. Is there any longer one than 800mm?
Test with too short belt, 3,0g rollers and Malossi red contra spring (still too heavy rolls): 60km/h @ 9000rpm 70km/h @ 10000rpm 80km/h @ 10500rpm 90km/h @ 11000rpm
Max 91km/h on flat.
Greetings from Finland jonik

:welcome: jonik! I didnt know Malossi dosnt offer an over-range for a CPI Mina  . Thanks for letting us know that! How did you make one? Sounds like you have a heck of a set-up their! Bet she screams huh? Stock crank? Not sure about the belts, i run a 788 in mine :stumped: . Im sure others here can help there. You have a red torque spring in and 3gram rollers are still too light :stumped: WoW, i would think the exact opp. If your going for more top-end try a lighter torque spring and see what happens. If that dosnt help, a different ramped rear pulley(torque driver) is the only thing i have off the top of my head right now that would help either way. Got any pics

That sounds like a nasty setup you're working on! I know Polini, Malossi, and others make belts but they give no specs. Have you tried the belts that Malossi makes for their overrange kits? They might be longer, I really don't know. My wallet has never let me get an overrange kit yet. lol www.sip-scootershop.com/main/base/Results.aspx?t=over%20range%20belt&d=(sco,ape,lam,old,px,sma,max,atv,mot)&a=1&sort=0 A friend of mine went to an auto parts store and matched up a belt that worked well for his scoot. That may be worth trying if all else fails. BTW if you wanna post any pics, vids, or more info about your scoot, the tuned block, or any mods... we'd love to see them.

Nice to have replies, fast ones too I previously had Malossi Multivar and Malossi Torque driver in CVT, top speed was 103km/h @ 12000rpm. Now I upgraded to "Overrange" to get more torque. I have real Overrange on my other "racing" scoot, it has genuine Minarelli LC engine. I want to make this as good as that one. My Overrange contains Doppler oversize variator (Malossi MHR replica, 19x15,5 rolls) and Malossi MHR rear pulley. Piaggio Typhoons overrange belt might be the answer to my problem. s254.photobucket.com/albums/hh97/jonik1/CPI/There is some pics from my scoots. jonik

Wow. Really nice scoots! Thanks for the pics. ;D
Just to be clear, they do show 2 overrange belts for minarellis on the link I provided too.

Yes, I saw them both. Aerox one is way too short (long type), it's about 760mm. That one I have on my other scoot. That another one might be better. Does vertical Minarelli have different type belt? Atleast Malossi makes different OR belt to them.
The belt I'm looking for should be something like 820 x 17,5 x 28. Piaggio Typhoons one is the closest (804mm). If the belt is a bit longer on overrange, it should be perfect.
I have original crankshaft for now. Ordered racing one while back, sent me one with 10 piston pin. Site said it's with 12mm. Still trying to sell it, return was not an option (40€ shipping).

Now I'm sure the 804mm belt is too short. There is 6mm useless space on the Doppler variator. With Malossi Multivar there was only about 1-2mm. That's why my tops is down. I'm also looking larger outer pulley. The original is too small, I'm now using Narakus www.racing-planet.de/scootertuning-keilriemenscheibe-naraku-hscnc-keeway-generic-p-124830-1.html That's a bit too small though. I have also Malossi primary gearing waiting in garage. It lowers the gearing ratio from 13:1 to 10:1 or something like that. Because original gearing, I have to rev the engine to get good speeds. I tried it ones, but it took all my low end power. Now I have better setup. jonik

Nice engines!!! Good pics! Thanks for sharing! My (our) CPI minas are not like that one. Mine has an "outter" gearbox or trans. I dig the cvt cover mods! Very nice set-up indeed! Hope you get the right belt!

Hi!
My CPI has the same engine as yours, some of the pics are from my other scoot (LC Minarelli).
Those cooling parts are from Yamaha BW'S 100cc. Modded them to fit. I have a Koso sensor under spark plug. Max temp I've got is 92ºC. Usually 50-70.
I've been using that crank extractor patent a long time. Right one costs ~250€.
That cylinder is Stage6 Racing/Athena Evolution AC 70cc.
Do you guys now the power band of stage6 Racing or Tecnigas RS 2? Maybe I buy higher reving pipe next.

Not sure about the specs on that kit off the top of my head? But a can you with a S/6 racing top-end, a Yasini C16 or 20 will make it shine from what ive heard.....

I'd probably try the narrower one. .6mm difference in it and your current belt, but a full 1mm difference in the wider one and your current belt. Also, as you pointed out, you don't have enoguh room to adjust the front pulley for the wider belt. You could probably modify the variator faces to get them to close farther if it became necessary.
