I concur sir- I'm hoping I can make contact with the seller and it's still available. On a side note- the parts "skeedr" is now $75... Check out the difference between a stock 788-17-28 belt vs. this Adly belt. Crazy. Moofus is right- this weird hybrid short/long Adly motor is unique to say the least!

Wait till you see the stator. They mix 2t and 4t parts. The only atv motor that takes the big tires that i know of. I had to hunt to find a cvt cover but I've got enough to put mine together now

Ok fellas, I really need some advice here as to what to do; Exactly how much of an improvement would it be to go with 8.8:1 gears obver 13.5:1 gears with this 90cc? I know 2TDave has spent some time installing upgears and I'm wondering if I'll be happy with scoot gears or not? I'd be pretty happy with 55mph, but also like the idea of lots of torque. Scooter gears or ATV gears??? I know it's up to personal taste, but I could really use some opinions... 2T Spare parts scoot: $25 I haven't been contacted by the seller yet as they use email only to communicate Craigslist. Short case scooter gears and many extra parts I need 2T Spare Parts moskito: $75 This is an older Craigslist ad, but I've contacted this seller months ago, so I know they exist lol. Short case scooter gears and lots of extra parts. Another 2T parts scoot: $100 Scooter gears, lots of parts. Polaris scrambler gear: $65 Looks like the gear I need to use my rim and tire and I keep my ATV "upgears" 12" Rim smaller spline $?? ($50?) I could just find another 12" rim that fits the smaller shaft. I keep the Adly gears intact. I'd like my rims to match but I guess I'd eventually get over it. OPINIONS PLEASE!!!! Help me decide!! EDIT: I think I may get the $25 scoot for the parts, and then the $65 gear later for an upgear if I want more top speed...

Shortcase scooter gears should be around 11:1. Brent used scooter gears in a retro with a Polaris 90 and got in the high 50s with a small 10 inch tire. With the tall 12 inch you should be OK for 55 to 60. You could always go with atv gears later if you needed to

Cool, a longcase 90 with shortcase (much cheaper) gears! Good score! Why not skip all the parts scooters and just get a new complete set of gears for the same price or less?
Im not sure you will find the common wider 12inch wheel like you have on your scoot now to fit that axle.?

I think you'll want at least 11:1 gears or lower. The 13.5:1 are just to tall IMO. I already had good gears(10.13:1). The swap was due to some play in the primary shaft. They did lower my ratio a little but it was only 2% so a negligible difference. I do like the whine of the straight cut gears though. Sounds like a mini dragster.

Short, you mean 13:5s are too short of gear.. The lower the number the taller the gear.. I agree with ya but i must say even with 13,s my current scoot of tune (Keeway F-act) is doing pretty good with em I comes off the line like i was rear-ended and will run 50MPH under 9,000RPM with a stock CVT. Not too bad i think! I am using a new 788-17 Bando wide boy, that helps. Just a mild 70 with a LeoGP

Of course the shortcase gear market is totally different than that of the longcases. Many more options with the shorties! Here is a page of shortcase style gears if it helps www.scooter-attack.com/shop/#!/en/Yamaha/Jog-R-50-AC-air/

Yeah I meant short. I figure if he's in there now and wants 55mph I hear 60-65 mph, now would be the time instead of later. I bet that does jerk of the line! What kind of rpms are you turning at top speed?

Never mind I see 9k. Not bad, still some room there for a stock crank.

I havent had it to top speed yet. And yes its a stock crank.. How did you know, just a guess? Under 9,000RPM at 50+ with 13:55,s is great man! In fact im still not sure how i am getting these results with a stock CVT? lol

I didn't know what crank, I was thinking about Niz's build. I'm guessing he wants to run the stock bottom end. I think your rpms are about where mine were with 10.13 and a S6 vari. Just goes to show how no two are a like.

Perfect fellas thanks for your opinions. Sounds like you're doing just fine with the scoot gears 2Strokd! Looks like I'm gonna go with the parts bike (there's a lot I want off it). It's a Vento Zip R3i Turbocam for $50. I can use things like the brake parts and tires, etc. plus have yet another 2T case... 2TDave I found the gear I need on ebay for $65... I'll eventually get it since I know the devil on my shoulder won't shut up until I try an "upgear" 2Strokd's experience with the 13.5:1 scooter gears doing well convinced me just get a shortcase and swap the gears. Thanks guys!!
