Still getting nowhere with this bike. Sprayed some starter fluid into the air intake this morning and it started straight up but only ran for a couple of seconds then died and wouldn't restart. I've put it up on Gumtree as a non runner. If I had a garage I could dismantle the whole thing but I don 't so I'm screwed, a bummer to say the least.

I'm sorry I haven't been following but it would sound like your not getting fuel. Have you tested the petcock?

Thanks for your interest, I've sucked on the vacuum tube and fuel flows down into the filter and through into the carb. The second time I cleaned the carb there was fuel in it.

By watching the video I don't think you had a good seal for the compression test. If that test was correct I don't think napalm would start the motor.

I guess we really need to know what the compression is. Does it always kick and crank that easy? Does the plug get wet when you are trying to start it!

OK, interesting test just now. I think the inexpensive compression tester I bought may be faulty (or just crap). Hooked it up again but it was still reading zero on electric or kick start. Decided to test by putting my finger over the spark plug hole while someone else pressed the starter. There was obvious pressure to push my finger away. Does this advance us any

Yeah here in the u.s I bought one and it didn't work,it was meant for a car not a scooter,so the compression tester didn't fuction properly on a smaller "1" cylinder engine!!!

How the hell does it not work on a scooter but for a car? Pressure is pressure, unless it's a volume issue? Maybe the cylinder on a car has quite more volume and that's why? Mine only would go up to 30psi when testing my Baccio, I haven't tried it on the new one yet. There's too many screws to take apart to get to the damn plug.

I'm pretty sure its volume related because I've never got a accurate reading with a car compression tester,I'm not saying its impossible too get an accurate reading with a car compression tester,I just don't know how too get an accurate with one!!!

My cheap HF tester reads within 5 psi of the MacTools one I just got. I'm going to test Jhobe's as he was getting a 30 psi reading with a HF tester on a running scoot. Just poor quality control china crap is my guess.

Sounds like bad compression or air leak causing there to be no suction and no venturi effect to pull the gas in.

Yeah that's the one I used from HF,I don't know why,but I tried "2" from there and one had "35pounds" and the 2nd one I got read "25" had a buddy of mine that had a matco and I was at 135 pounds,so I'm leaning on poor quality control in China!!!:thumbdown:
