So I'm new to the scooter community, I've worked on small engines before nothing too indepth, but when I saw the add for my current scooter I had to act I recently purchased a 2012 Bintelli scorch 49cc from a kid that knows nothing about anything mechanical literally. So for $120 I snatched this non running bad boy up, the kid said he was going down the road and the scooter just died. So being optimistic I figured it might be the magneto, coil, carburetor etc but I pulled the dipstick and someone decided to run this thing dry I'm not sure if that's what caused the stall but it's a good suspect I'm gonna go about checking everything else first. I just wanted some advice on these things what parts are best where to get them. If I do have to rebuild of like to go with a big bore kit so suggestions there would also be great. Advice on the rebuild is welcome I've never done it before but seems pretty straight forward.
Also there's 1800 miles on the scooter not sure if that matters or not.
Thanks everyone.

I like Partsforscooters.com That's where I get a lot of my stuff. I believe they're also located in FLA- probably why my orders always come in like 2 days

It may just need the valves adjusted if it was never done. Of course running it w/o oil would be a concern. Have you checked compression?

I haven't checked anything really, tomorrow I'm gonna get some oil for it then Sunday ill be getting my battery charger back from a buddy, then i can really get into this thing I'm hoping its something simple though for what I'm in it for i could replace the engine and still be OK i only plan on using it to go to class since my jeep gets 13mpg

Ok so Ive changed the oil on the scooter, after i drained about 5oz of black oil out. the engine still turns freely and has spark. i put my finger over the spark plug hole to do a basic compression test and it has some compression not sure exactly. still not starting though gonna grab some starter fluid and see where that gets me.

You're gonna love the sound of that little muffler.

So I replaced a cracked vacuum hose and sprayed a little starter fluid into it fired right up couldn't believe how well it runs with how low the oil was.

where do you spray the starter fluid in at? I know on a cage, you take the air cleaner off and give a couple squirts down the carb.
Asking cause my son borrowed my scoot last week & ran it out of gas now it won't start. Almost starts the first time you hit it, but I haven't been able to get out and look at it much.

Front snorkel on airbox is a easy to get to area to spray the happy juice. Use sparingly .
