I own an '88 Yamaha Jog(CE50) when fixing it up I discovered that the carburetor is leaking from a huge crack in the float bowl. Needless to say I am in need of a new carb. I've noticed that there are a few different ones out there on the aftermarket scene for my Minarelli engine and was wondering if any of y'all Yamaha guys could lend a poor Canadian guy hand with a suggestion or two.
Thanks

So do you just want to replace it or are you looking to go larger? Replacements are all over eBay, in the US at least, searching Jog Carb or Polaris 90 carb. They basically come in two styles, the orund top and the flat triangular top. Either should work and for US customers can be had for around $20.
If you're looking for a larger carb, Dellorto PHBGs are popular in 19-21mm. For a stock scooter you don't really need that large of a carb. 19mm would work and would work well if you plan to big bore it. The PHBG runs around $100, but you can find clones of that on eBay for $50ish.

Not planning to go larger near stock will do but the 19mm might work better. It will run up to 70KPH(44MPH) as it stands. Well with me on it anyways(150lbs wet). Right now I'm just trying to get it running for next summer then sell it around August. I bought it off of my friend from work for one reason and that's to run the MBSR that runs every two years(Will be my third time). And the rule of thumb is the Older and Smaller the scooter(read small 50cc) the better.

Just go with one of the stock replacement carbs for Minarelli/Jog then. Not sure how well it works in Canada, but I search Polaris 90 carb and bunches come up here. Polaris 90 stock carbs are the same as the stock carbs on a lot of 50cc Chinese Minarellies. Those stock carbs are around 16mm venturi size and work alright even on mild 70s or even stock 90ccs (although I think the cooling is lacking on a 90 with the stock carb).
