hi guys so my yamaha zuma 1997 (bug eye) has no ignition barrel but yet it starts and the headlights work ?? whats with that ? im saving for a new ignition at the moment but could take a while... (being 16 and having no job lol) so for now its perfect bt i need my indicators(flashers,blinkers or turn signals) whatever you call them. also the battery is wired up really wierd-ly theirs a really thick guage red wire that should be connected to the terminal but it just hangs loose and their is two flimsy little wires atached to the battery terminals aswell ?? whats with that any help would be great cheers, renners

Not sure what you mean by barrel but the heavy gauge red wire goes to the electric starter relay.

If you just bought it, I'd be concerned that you have a stolen scooter. Maybe do a VIN check.
I'm not sure of the colors on your scoot, but there should be two wires to the ignition switch for power. One is batt power and the other is the wire that distributes power to the harness. If the switch can't connect them, they won't work. You'd need to ID those 2 wires and hook them together via a switch.

i was given the logbook with the bike and i got an insurance quote which would have showed up that the registration was flagged as being stolen so i don't have to worry
