Ok in pretty sure my starter button is bad and am just gonna replace with a push button switch i have. My problem is there are 4 wires going into switch i think 2 are for the kill switch and 2 for the starter button just dint know which is which. The screws are stripped out so cant get to the back of the switch so just plan on cutting those wires but don't know which they are. Wires are red/yellow, green/ black, green, and black. Could someone tell me which ones would go to the starter button?

The little tiny brake switches that are activated by the levers are very simple little mechanical devices- try spraying with some WD-40 and see if you can work the switches in and out and flush some rust out of them by spraying quite liberally. You may just get lucky and clean the connectors enough to where they start working again. In the meantime I'd be looking to replace them. Very cheap little part. Usually under $5. IDK which one you'd need so here's a link with a few to choose from... www.partsforscooters.com/search-results?keywords=brake%20switch

Power issue figured out i think. don't have a tester and was to impatient for someone to take me to go get one so i cut the wires to one of the brake switches and put them together like someone suggested. Scooter tries to start now when i push the start button. Both filaments on brake light are lit up now when key is on. So in going under the assumption that both brake switches are bad. Will have to order those. Now to figure out why it won't start? Turns over but doesn't fire. Old gas or spark plug? It has sat for 2 months till i was healed enough to look at it. I wrecked it 2 months ago but shooter started right up next day and my boyfriend drove it for a week before the brake switch issue with no problems. Thank you guys for your help in figuring this out

Sometimes if you look in pivit area you can see a little plunger coming from the back of perch , they can get stuck in sometimes , could pull lever back , soak it with wd40 or similar & poke at little plunger to free them up.

Fuel can go bad pretty quickly. Possible that it could've gone bad in two months... Best bet is prolly to A: confirm that the scoot has spark while it's turning over. If it does, then B: Drain the fuel tank and the carb and remove the carb and give it a real thorough cleaning. It's also possible that some fuel may have evaporated from the bowl and left gunk behind. Be sure to confirm spark first!! Good Luck!!

I took off spark plug and touched it to frame saw a small sprk when starting it so assume that it was sufficient spark to fire.

Yes a new carb is around $30 bucks well worth it. Also change the factory fuel and vacuum lines.
