So cleaned my carb again trying to diagnose my scooters problems and after getting it back together I fire it up rev it up to get the vacuum going for gas to get pulled up it revs then goes straight to a very low rpm and sounds like a chopper I believe it's being flooded because if I let just about all of the throttle out it will come up to a normal idle but that's it. Everything is in the same place it was I've checked three times wtf did I do?

I had mine set up to run like that on purpose ( I just loved the sound of it) and I was running rich as a pig.

So I feel dumb, I forgot to put the cap back on the needle to keep it from just coming up and not going back

I have done the same thing. I have done a lot of other stuff in the same vein as well like install the cap on the diaphragm and forget the spring, hooked up batteries backward several times, installed variators without roller weights, try to start a scooter after cleaning the carb and realized I didn't tighten the fuel drain etc...

i was married twice, i won't take the chance on third time is the charm. i was recently working on a scooter and was going crazy trying to figure out why it wouldn't start, after some time passed and a lot of checking i noticed the kill switch was set to off, it ran fine once i fixed that problem. i had one that i worked on forever trying to figure out why the petcock wasn't working and hooking the line up direct to the carb didn't work before checking the empty gas tank. we all make mistakes, they are learning experiences and some are even worthy of youtube like the ones i make.

After getting stranded about a dozen times with no clue of what the problem was, I decided to remove the kick stand kill switch...
