to anyone who's worked on a TGB like this, how is this supposed to come off? I removed the 3 hex bolts and the one without any head and it still won't come up. I tried hitting it with a mallet and still nothing. Is there something else holding it on?

It's just stuck. Wrap a rag around the handle of a socket wrench, shove it in the intake and lift upward on it.

Something about a wrench lodged in the intake pipe thats different from just tugging straight up and watching the entire motor assembly come with it.
I thought I wouldn't have to take the motor case off to get it off, but it looks like I'm going to have to. Off to HF to get some jack stands.

The reed assembly is often a source of leaks- on a Minarelli anyway- in one thread Brent mentioned he didn't even know why he bothered to just install with the gasket as they always leak haha (tested with leak tester and soapy water). When I install the reed assy. I take great care to scuff the sealing surfaces, prep them with alchohol or some other cleaning agent, and be sure to meticulously apply a fuel-resistant sealer (I use Permatex Ultra grey MotoSeal1). Just some intel to try to help u avoid a common leak area and major pita trying to figure out why it won't run right!

That's good advice.
I've had good results with RTV silicone after hitting the surfaces with carb cleaner and a clean rag. Of course I let the silicone set up over night before attempting to fire the engine(s)

looks like I need to get a new bolt to replace the one that didn't have a head, some stands, and some gasket maker

Got a tube of Permatex Ultra Grey as recommended. I saw the copper one was high heat, Is there anywhere I can't use the Ultra Grey on a scooter? It says 500 F max.

If you got the fuel resistant stuff (there are 2 different kinds of ultra grey) then it can be used everywhere! I even use it on exhaust manifold and recently took the plunge and tried it on head gasket instead of copper spray. It works!
