I recently bought a SUNL qm50qt-3e 50cc scooter off of my local craigslist. Well I got it home and cleaned the carb out tried to crank it...Nothing. Opened up the scooter(Took all the cheap plastic off) and the ignition is wired ass backwards. Its crudely taped up. The busted ignition switch has 5 wires coming out where as the wires going into the harness are only 4. Here are some pictures. Could you all tell me what wire goes to each? I can Crank the scooter using this thing. Here are the wires going into the harness The old ignition The New Ignition My battery box...I thought there was supposed to be a "CDI"?

Are you holding brake lever when tring to crank it?does it have a kickstand switch? That thing is a starter relay.

Can't help ya much with the wiring ,but from what I can see in the pic it looks to have D1E41qmb engine. That means most likely you wont find a CDI. The ignition is all contained under the flywheel. I had a scooter with that engine a few years ago and swapped it out with a 139qmb, because it had a single speed chain drive under the kickstart cover, which means 15-20mph on a good day. Sorry I can't help with the wiring its been too long ago and I made a short harness for the new engine that was basically plug and play to the existing harness.

Ummm?!! You get a title with this? Exposed copper coil in picture 1 is not good and five wires you show looks like stator or cdi wiring not ignition.

That exposed copper thing is the starter relay Clank.
When you say "Ignition" I take it you are talking about the key switch correct? I have a running scooter with the same engine I am fixing up to sell. It's at a buddy's house. I will check the harness and get back to you on this asap.

I got the ignition switch wired up correctly. It turns over but wont crank. I have a spark. Maybe I missed something in the carb unless anyone else has any recommendations?

On all the scooters I ever worked on with that particular engine the carburetors had a manual enricher that was hooked via a cable to a small lever by the throttle grip. They wouldn't start cold without first depressing the lever. If it won't stay put you have to hold it for a bit til it warms up.
Holding your hand over the carb throat may get results as well.
